No doubt. What are the best five run franchises in pro football in your estimation?

Edit: Doesn't have to be in a particular order because who could say, but generally which five are best run today?

Tough to say. Clearly the best organizations are usually the ones that win. Do they win because they're run so well or are they run so well because they win?

And I'm talking about organizations that people take pride in working for, not just collecting a paycheck. Also, organizations that treat people in my profession with respect.

Re: Around the NFL: Conference Championships Edition

Their fans spoiled them for me.

I used to want all local teams to do well. When I watched the Panthers and Ravens I always wanted to represent the area.

This year specifically, Ravens fans truly chapped my ass. I used to LOVE their defense because it was so nasty, but now I see them sack someone and I'm like, it burns me soul that their fans get happy.

Ravens fans = Eagle fan wannabe's.

The worst (a--hole douchebag classless jerk) fans, by reputation and my own observation, are Eagles, Raiders and Ravens. Pretty much in that order.

Pats vs. Atl. SF will struggle on the road. I'd like to see Ray get another ring, and would also like to see Brady get another one too.

Struggle? They beat GB and NE on the road. Kaepernick is 5" taller and 15lbs. Heavier than Wilson in addition to 4.4 speed. Good luck stopping him

Who do I want in the super bowl?

49ers Ravens

Who will it be in the super bowl?

Patriots Falcons

Who do I not want to win it all?

New England

Who will win it all?

New England

They should both be good games (knock on wood)

As much as I cant stand the Ravens and Ray Lewis, I think they will play SF in the big game.

I respect that but don't care for the coach or the fans. They are much closer to me than the organization

Understood. I can't really say I'm gung ho for any of the teams, but the least of the evils for me is Baltimore

Same here.

Maybe I am lucky that I don't know any a-hole Ravens fan. Most of them care more about beating Pittsburgh than the Redskins. Honestly, the thought of a Redskins/Ravens "rivalry" is laughable IMO. And like you said, I think they are a very well run organization. And they've been successful without resorting to the douchebag tactics of teams like the Pats.

A Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh SB would be a lot of fun too. It'd make the week leading up to the SB very interesting.

I'll admit that I used to actually kind of like the ravens and I thought of them as my second team. Honestly, I was pumped when they won the Super Bowl during my freshman year of college because, although I grew up in a family of Redskins fanatics, I wasn't a huge sports fan until I got into college.

My hatred for the ravens started a couple of seasons later when my friends' got Skins season tickets. That year we played the steelers in a preseason game. At the game there was a group of 3 or 4 ravens fans sitting a few rows behind us fully decked out in ravens cap - purple camo, face-paint, stupid purple & black wigs - and they were cheering like crazy FOR THE STEELERS! We asked them why they were cheering for their rival and they said it was because of how much they hate the Skins, but they couldn't give a reason for why that was the case. It was insanity.
Over the years I met A TON of ravens fans who were just like that, and so my anti-passion for them grew, especially when I lived in Federal Hill for a year.

As for the actual point of this thread - I really wouldn't be surprised if the ravens do pull off another upset. It seems like their offense is really clicking now that Caldwell has a few games under his belt; and their defense always knows how to step up. Sunday evening should be pretty wild.

Sounds like you've had the misfortune of meeting a whole bunch of fairweather Ravens fans who really need to get their fan card taken away. I worked in downtown Baltimore for two years and ran into a few annoying fans, but not many.
