I'd watch this 30 for 30. "NFL player on track to double his NFL earnings by savvy investing." Good job Glover Quin.
Yeah, you always hear about the guys who blew it all away but certainly they are some success story. Budgeting is always smart, but it's amazing the discipline it took to invest 70% and live on 30. But the article said he lived on 72k per year...but I bet that is net. If so it's more like the equivalent of over 100k...I mean, u can do alright on that.

Harbaugh took advantage of a loophole. The coaches who don't take advantage of loopholes are the ones that don't last. Every coach is looking for every advantage. Harbaugh might be the first coach to do this but he won't be the last.

Hell, even with the high cost of living in NoVa I'm sure I could get by on 72k a year. You're def right on that. Even still 70% net invested is a great ratio. He is definitely in the minority of players who do that.

Yep, that was pretty smart.

It's been a long weekend of football, but finishing with a great Sunday night game and the Eagles sh*tting their own nest is quite satisfying.

Re: Around the NFL Week 12

Let me introduce you guys to Justin Tucker, aka the Ravens kicker. When he's not being one of the best at his position (I believe he's 18 for 18 beyond 40 yards this year) he likes making awkward dad jokes as seen here:

And also singing opera:

Wow. Respect.

Time for a rule change to close that loophole. Holding is a foul, which means it is considered to be unfair. For the game to be closed out via a mass violation of the holding rule doesn't seem to me to be what the League would want.

Yeah I just don't get why the game can't end on a defensive penalty... but can end on an offensive penalty... The Bengals should've had the choice to accept the penalty, refuse the safety, and replay the down...

Re: Around the NFL Week 12

Did anyone see Doug Peterson use his last challenge to gain 2 yards on a short pass play last night? Laughable how bad that was....

Because if it could end on a defensive penalty nobody would ever score at the end of a game. There would be pass interference, face mask tackling, etc etc.
What the Ravens did was basically run out the clock, but when you have the lead and the ball that is your choice.
I guess the nfl thinks if you have the ball and need to score that you should be given a fair opportunity to do so, but if you need to get the ball back AND score that you are fucked anyway.
Plus remember that if you have the ball and it is the last play and you are losing - it obviously is not fair that if you commit a penalty that you should get another shot. It is a very fair rule in that way.
