If he was that good a scout the redskins would have more late round finds in his tenure. Anyone can pick Chris Samuels, Lavar Arrington and Sean Taylor. Scouts & GM's prove their worth in the late rounds and free agency.

Bottomline is if Coach Gibbs being the team president wants Charlie it could happen. Dan does not have the say does he? I thought he gave complete control to Coach Gibbs.

the trades (besides brunell which was all gibbs) have been good... moss, hall, rabach, thomas, patten, washington, griffin, harris, springs, portis, thrash... and lots of 1st day picks turn out to be garbage, and we haven't had many of those lately...

fiore and barrow didn't work out, but both were low risk bets, so they didn't really hurt us.

Well, there was also Chad Morton, Jeremiah Trotter, and Trung Canidate -- all engineered by Snyder and Cerrato.

Still, it looks like overall, the good trades have outweighed the bad, though I can't be certain when it comes to salary cap implications.

I saw somewhere that the Redskins have the lowest ratio of draft picks on their final roster. I still say that someday, it will catch up to us.

Morton in one game tied that amount of kicks he returned for TDs in a Redskins uniform in one week with the G-men. Trotter went to the pro bowl last year (deservedly or not, he still played good football. Not as good as pierce, but good football.), and well.... Trung was cheap and available!

It could have more to do with players not fitting into our scheme rahter than them being awful pickups.

i thought trung was all spurriers idea... either way, i agree that tossing our draft picks every year is a bad thing.
