Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread
I know our defensive line is average, at best, but could Joe Barry be any less creative than a 90+ year old couple having sex. Not only was he blah, but he was doing things tonight which seemed to lack football nuances, IMO (ie, not allowing Norman to follow Brown in certain situations, staying in a soft zone when Roethlisberger was smoking it like a cigar, not blitzing enough to mask D-line weaknesses, taking away runs on the edge).
Barry showed no ability to put players in the right position for success. A long, long way to go for this season, and I still feel we'll be able to win this division. But if tonight's showing was a sample what we'll see from this defense throughout the duration, then cronyism could doom Gruden. |

Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread
People reminiscing about Gregg Williams, he's getting his undisciplined defense ass kicked 28-0 by the 49ers. Williams sucks!! Overrated like his buddy Jeff Fisher.

I don't miss Gregg Williams, but I would prefer a much more aggressive defensive coordinator. I think the less talented you are up front, the more aggressive you have to be. Our pass rush was non existent tonight and we just sat back most of the game. Hard to cover Brown or stop Big Ben when he has all day to throw.

Say what you want about GW but he is hands down a better DC than Joe Barry. Barry is picking up right where he left off against Green Bay.

At the same time, there was a point late in the game in which he got called for a false start. If I'm coaching, in goes Kelley and out comes Jones so I can yell at him for being a bonehead. Then Jones goes to the bench for a series or two. Instead, he commits a dumbass penalty and, the next play, gets the ball and runs right into a clogged up hole - losing three yards. No accountability.

The Steelers are as good as they looked but I dont think the Skins are as bad as they looked. This season will be like last year and the Skins will get better as the season goes on.

Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread
Same shit different season.
We make a playoff game like every 3 years and that playoff game sets us back at least 2 or 3 seasons. The RGIII playoff game with his knee and last years now gives us basically one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. I could have taken a lost last night i actually expected it but a ass whopping is what has me fawking mad today. Just a shit team.

Re: Redskins vs. Squealers Gameday Thread
Cousins a little off early, bouncing ball off of different players chests and face results in pitt td at end of half, tons of penalties, a fumble that kerrigan did not dive on at the steelers ten yard line, all of these things and yet it was a one score game with roughly ten minutes left. Were we not prepared for week one? We were not. Was it a total ass kicking by a better team from start to finish? NO IT WAS A RESULT OF ALL THE DUMB AND MORE IMPORTANTLY FIXABLE THINGS I MENTIONED AND WAS A ONE SCORE GAME LATE!!!!
Everyone relax. |
