Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Looks like we have another dumbass LSU player that doesn't know how to shut his mouth.

Not only that, seems many of his coaches killed him about his attitude. NFL Combine News & Notes: Saturday Quote:

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Since we already have 7 picks I think we're ok as is. Although given this front office's approach in the past I'm sure we'll move around some in the draft.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Te'o is an excellent football player, but the market for run-first middle linebackers is similar to the market for quarterbacks: every team only needs one, and the success of your MLB is very much a function of the talent around him. The MLB is hardly ever isolated in the scheme, much like the quarterback.
The fact is there were only about 8 or 9 teams that were ever going to be in the market for Te'o, and a fall to the second round was always a possibility. The Patriots got Brandon Spikes with the last pick in the second round, and Spikes essentially was a poor man's Te'o. I'm still not sure he'll get past the Giants though.

Video: Tyrann Mathieu runs under 4.5 in his first combine 40, starts the NFL redemption process | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
- I was wrong about him running a 4.5+, Also he gained muscle and weighed in at 186. He is making all the right moves. Last edited by donofriose; 02-26-2013 at 11:23 AM. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Landry Jones ran a 5.11 in the 40 with a "unique" running style.
![]() "Landry Jones. Jones ran an expectedly slow 40-time, clocking in at 5.11 seconds, last among the 13 quarterbacks who competed." Compared to RGIII (torching Cam Newton and Andrew Luck).

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I look at all these DBs and see maybe a handful that I wouldn't want. Translation; I love this class of DBs. None of these guys are ''slow'' and need to be moved to safety based on poor speed.
Matt Elam ran a 4.54. Pretty good for an NFL safety. I'm pretty sure he just guaranteed himself to go before we pick.

Rhodes ran faster than I thought he would. Actually thought Honey Badger would be faster than 4.5

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I figured Te'o would run in the 4.75 range at best so I'm not overly concerned with his 40 time.
I'm still more concerned about his web of lies with the imaginary girlfriend BS and even his excuses after his poor combine kinda turned me off. I'd pass on the guy even in the 2nd. I just don't think he's anything special. |

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
I somewhat agree that he is overrated, but I do think he was telling the truth about the "girlfriend". He's smart enough to know that if teams find out he's lying, it's over for him. Anyway, I would love to see the guy wearing a burgundy and gold jersey.

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Secondary Players that I want to learn more about after the combine:
Shamarko Thomas S Syracuse David Amerson CB NC State Robert Alford CB Southeastern LA Steve Williams (had a 4.25 40 the offical time is BS)- also 40.5 vert and 128 inch broad jump. Tyrann Mathieu- He did very well- not counting the bench press

Re: 2013 NFL Draft Prospects
Mathieu is another guy that I think that can just play football. I don't care how much he benches. His off the field issues are going to hurt his value... but however drafts him, and if they can keep his head on straight, and he accepts good coaching..he can end up being the steal of the draft. I'd love for us to get him in the mid rounds.
