Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
But if Snyder fancies himself a great talent evaluator, why does he not think he can find a QB who is just as good next year? Should be a really strong year for QBs next season.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
Yeah, I thought originally it was a smokecreen when there was a possibility Sanchez would be there at 13, so we could trade down. But no this trade up talk has me jumpy. I originally wanted to trade down to late 1st round and get a 2nd rounder, but now I'll be happy to stay at 13. I just don;t know enough about this Sanchez kid. He looks good on film, but the inexperience will be his undoing.
The second DeMarcus Ware blasts through our rickety O-Line and blasts him, he's gonna wish he stayed at USC.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
How come we never hear about Dan Rooney or Bob Kraft "smitten" with draft picks? Maybe because they know how to run a professional outfit?
I expect the Skins to somehow end up with Sanchez. We'll dump picks this year and next to get him. And we'll probably part with JC for like a 4th round pick... |

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
Rumor has it that if Sanchez is available when the Seahawks are up, that they will draft him.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
About Sanchez being hispanic, i was also wondering if he would be the first hispanic starting NFL QB - if so, the Redskins would probably double their fanbase overnight. We'd probably also steal alot of Cowboys fans, so it would be nice to stick it to Jerry. That said, i really hope ethnicity isnt a factor in Snyders wanting Sanchez. I think Sanchez merits consideration based on the quality of player that he is alone.
That said, I disagree that its going to cost two firsts and more to move up from 3rd to 13. The Chiefs dont even want to take a player that high and are desperate to move down. High 1st round picks arent as "valuable" as they used to be, and it wouldnt surprise me if the Chiefs did the deal for our 1st, 3rd, and a 2nd-4th round pick next year. Granted, Pioli probably knows he could get Danny to overpay for the pick, but i would hope Snyder would be shrewd enough to realize HE has the upper hand in this situation - the Chiefs are desperate to move down and theres no need to sell the farm. Along those lines, if Snyder really REALLY wants Sanchez, why not just wait and see what happens. Let the first 4 picks go by and see if sanchez is still there. If he makes it past the Seahawks, he'll likely fall to the Jags and we could trade with them. Its also possible he falls to us - although thats not likely. Looking at a number of mocks, i think we're almost certain that one of Sanchez, Orkapo, or Smith will fall to 13. At this point, i think the smartest move would be to just let the top 12 picks play out, then see if one of those 3 is still on the board. If so, we will have plenty of offers from other teams wanting to trade up. Even if we really want Sanchez, and another team takes him before us, that doesnt mean we couldnt do something after the fact. We could still trade our 13 plus additional picks/players to the team that drafted Sanchez. I certainly don't think theres a need to trade all the way up to 3 prior to the draft.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
No, he's the "Dirty Sanchez" and after each TD he throws, he will pretend to draw a mustache as a celebration.

Re: Mark Sanchez at 13th?
Call me crazy but I don't think that drafting Sanchez with the 13th overall pick is that bad of an idea. Best case It would push JC to preform better and if he does we have a situation like San Diego had a couple years back with Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers. If he doesn't play better we have Sanchez who would be ready to step in and play like carson plamer did with the Bengles. The one thing I don't want is for Washington to trade a bunch of picks to trade up and get him though.
