Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I've heard the term I just have no idea what it means exactly. All I know is that it refers to a chicken that is young. However what exactly makes it a "spring" chicken is beyond me.
By the way I looked it up. It's basically a young chicken thats ripe for slaughter.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Gotcha..well, for the sake of this discussion it simply means a young person. But it's a chicken about 2 months old, the meat is tender.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I wonder how much Brett Favre and Kurt Warner being very productive late in their careers influenced this move. You have to think, McNabb is 33 years old. No, he's no spring chicken, but he has more than enough gas in the tank. If we can draft a top flight QB in the next year or two, make a playoff run in the meantime, this move was well worth it.
In the end I think Philly did a poor job on the communications end when trade rumors started to swirl a few weeks ago. The longer it dragged on, the viable options started to dwindle and they were in a PR pickle. There's no way in hell the Redskins were on the radar when this all started. I feel like we lucked up big time on this one. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
You can stink in some departments(short passing accuracy) if other abilities override it(instincts to extend the play, deep ball accuarcy). Campbell's throws are like musket shots. They're never on target or there's some miscomm. Never can one be certain whether he intended to throw something like back shoulder pass(Oakland game) or it just happned to be there. Campbell's pocket presence is artificial at best. The fumble in the Giants game is more than ample evidence that he needs to think about when his time's up and it's not an instinctive ability of his. He also can't see the field well, such as missing Yoder on that quadruple streak play.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I just don't know about this. McNabb is definitely an upgrade from Campbell, no doubt about that! I am SURPRISED that the Eagles traded him to a division foe. This is all very shocking to me! before we get to the Elway comparisons with the age, let's just remember that Elway had been in Denver for years before Shanahan came to town AND Elway had been to at least three Super Bowls before Shanahan came to town. McNabb is in a new city, new team, and has been to one Super Bowl. Don't know if it's fair to compare McNabb to Elway. Two different situations!

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
What if McNabb is coming in to further help develop JC as the 'Skins QB? They're both allegedly good friends and stranger things have happened. Now, back to my meth lab...

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
I would say that it would be less strange than this trade, but more strange than reality should allow for (and likely will not).

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Odd perspective if you think McNabb is not too old to be effective.
