The same could be said for every position anyway. Nobody is a sure thing. Look at your man RG-3.
Regardless it has to be adressed. So unless you know some other way to build our oline we have to take a chance.

There are quite few teams trying to revamp their o-line that is gonna take expertise and know how. I am not sure we have that anymore.

He doesn't bring near the heat Rak did(it's funny how when I type Rak it autocorrects to Rank.)

Kerrigan-Rak>Kerrigan-Murphy, and it's really not close at this point. I think Murphy can eventually be a good all-around rusher, but developing an outside rush will take time. He's not the athlete Kerrigan and especially Rak are, but he seems like a smart and instinctual player. In terms of playing style, the Jared Allen comparison is accurate IMO.
So Rak puts pressure on the QB every single game then....ok, I didnt say anything about Murphy. I was referring to his statement that Rak puts pressure on the QB all the time.

How is Gary spot on? All he says is Rak is great and Murphy sucks. Last time I checked Murphy is a rookie, and he isnt getting paid like Rak was.
If you think the Jared Allen comparison is a good one for Murphy than how the hell are you going to agree with Gary that he sucks.
I swear the we need to start winning because the logic and posts are looking awfully 3-13 ish too around here.
Edit: also im with Quake - rak didnt put pressure on the qb all the time. Not even close. How quickly we forget.
Edit 2; im not necessarily referring directly to your post as much as the overall-fire Gruden, Murphy sucks, etc

G84C was referring to how much more pressure Rak gets than Murphy, and I was agreeing with him on that. I guess I should have quoted his post instead of EARTHQUAKE's.

As for the Jared Allen comparison, I've said twice already that I'm not comparing them skill-wise. I'm saying their styles of play are similar. Someone from CBS Sports made the comparison pre-draft, and I agree with it. Murphy has a long ways to go to reach Allen's skill level, but I like his toughness and smarts and definitely think he can be a solid starter eventually.

Fair enough but lets look at the whole picture - Rak was drafted and paid to do a hell of alot more than he did. Murphy although probably taken a round or two too soon is doing just fine as a rookie (while being coached by one of the bigger jokes of a DC in the league).

Pretty much sums it up. Lets not forget Landrys bone headed personal foul penalties he used to like to get in big moments....

If Danny boy does fire Gruden then he should fire the entire coaching staff.

lol....but the question is "who are our fireman" in that video?

I think if Gruden is allowed to implement "his way" without "Danny & the Lackies" (aka the band playing on the sinking titanic) interferring and a new GM...that could be the way to turn the franchise around.

I still want to know, who is responsible for bringing back Haslett and who bullshited everyone with "oh Haslett was never able to run his own show"...that's the first one who would be fired in the FO.

I really feel Haslett takes the blows for his defense but idk man. Haslett doesnt blow the simple cover 2 zones and he doesnt miss tackles. I really think with a good safety to playn overtop that is faster than a fullback would be a lot better than.

I enjoy his aggressive scheme and he plays against rivals well. I just thinkn its a player issue more than a coach

Because we haven't upgraded at all. The defensive backfield in 2010 were:

Kevin Barnes
Phillip Buchanan
Doughty
D. Hall
Chris Horton
Landry
Kareem Moore
Carlos Rogers
Byron Westbrook

Now we have:

D. Hall
Amerson
Biggers
Breeland
Ducre
Minnifield
Porter
Clark
Meriweather
P. Thomas
Trenton Robinson
Akeem Davis (who?)

Most of these dudes are either rookies or flat out suck. No one other than D. Hall and Breeland are no brainer keepers. Amerson and Thomas could be thrown in. Maybe. Everyone else could easily be replaced.

We haven't upgraded since 2010 just side graded; replaced one dude with someone else of equal skills and upside.
