Rex is like blood in the water...the Defense smell it the minute he steps on the field. Right now Beck has the confidence that this team needs to see in the huddle.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
At this point I don't care. Personally if Beck was any better he'd have been starting already, but he was not .... most likely for a reason. I think the situation was this;
Grossman- Knows the playbook inside and out and is able to switch the play at the LOS to a more favorable play the defense is giving him. I think he's more accurate on the deep passes. Definitly a pocket passer and poised. Beck- Has better legs for roll outs and for running if need be. Has a stronger arm and can throw the ball farther, but is not as accurate on the deep ball. I think due to both not being a complete package the coaching staff had to decide what they wanted from a QB and had to decide which QB was better suited. I think in the end Grossman won the job because of his ability to switch the play. I don't hate Beck, but if he was better he already would have been starting. At this point I hope they do start Beck. Like the rest of you lets see what he "can" and or "can't" do. Trust me I was just as excited prior to the season starting with the assumption that Beck was starting simply because Grossman can not scramble for a 1st down to save his life, but I accepted that there was a reason Beck was not starting. The problems I think we will see is more sacks because Beck will probably not change the play at the LOS and will run the play sent in which will result in a sack. He'll make some good plays just like Grossman did but I honestly don't think either QB will out play the other and the fans who have been clamering for the change will be slightly dissapointed. All in all ...... this team needs more OL depth next year and a QB out of the draft. |

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
Quote:
Brady- 8 Int's 2012 Brees- 8 Int's 2012 Newton- 9 Int's 2012 EManning- 5 Int's 2012 Romo- 6 Int's 2012 Roethlisberger- 6 Int's 2012 Vick- 8 Int's 2012 Rivers- 7 Int's 2012 Grossman- 9 Int's 2012 So I guess what your saying is because he has 9 Int's in the last 4 games he sucks which essentially your saying these other QB's suck also correct? I don't think you can base a QB's product totally off his interception per game ratio. Heck just about each of these QB's have already had one horrid game so if you dump Grossman's bad game last week he would only have 5 Int for the season.... pretty much right up there if not better then the rest of the QB's. This was for all you statistical people out there. EDIT: I said 2012 and I meant this year 2011 sorry. Last edited by SBXVII; 10-18-2011 at 01:17 PM. |

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
This past year our draft strategy was to move down and infuse youth at many different positions. We did a good job of this. We have a good surrounding cast for a franchise QB.
But now it is time to get that QB. I will be happy if we take the opposite approach in the offseason by going all-in to draft a talented rookie QB. If it takes trading several picks to get one studly QB, so be it.

Re: Who do you want to start at QB?
Personally I don't think it matters.
The QB we need to take us to the playoffs is not on the roster. I'd rather just go thru the motions, finish the season and hopefully find a way to get the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the draft next year.
