Banning assault weapons won't keep all psychos from getting them. But it will make it harder for them to get them. Don't we want to make it harder for a psycho to get an assault weapon?

Also, banning assault weapons will not eliminate all of the ones in circulation. But each year into the future, as weapons degrade as all machines do, it will be harder for psychos to get their hands on them. Again, don't we want it to be difficult for psychos to get weapons?
You take A away someone will find B to get the job done. Eliminate psychopaths not guns. Also I have heard from many LEOs that the most dangerous weapon can have is a motor vehicle.

^^ Ummmm, I am all for taking an assault rifle to the statue, even though it seems inefficient, but I am guessing this is in the wrong thread.

I second this. Do we really gotta be talking about assault rifles in the Penn State thread?

I for one am glad to see they removed the statue. Also according to this report there's a possibility that Penn State might not get the death penalty tomorrow.

If the report is true and the penalties given are even harsher than the death penalty, I am fine with that. I do expect to see unprecedented penalties given, since this is an unprecedented case.

The statue had to go down. No way it could still stand after all that has transpired.

Constant reminder of the tragedy that happened. Victims and families will never heal from it as long as Joe is still around.

Keeping the statue up continues to enshrine Joe as a hero, something he isn't and now obviously never was.

PSU football is dead. PSU may go bankrupt once the civil suits start flying.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

Penn State just got shit on. Since they vacated all their wins since 1998, does that mean the leader in all-time wins reverts back to Bobby Bowden?

edit: guess so

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter

RT @darrenrovell: Paterno's new win count is 298. .... 12th all time.

Faux John Madden ‏@FauxJohnMadden

After today Penn State is now on a 175 game losing streak.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

4-year Bowl ban, vacated wins to 1999, 5-year probation, reduced scholarships...slap on the wrist.

Vacated wins mean nothing to current players or the dead coach...and most importantly to the victims. A crappy football team and no New Year's vacations for the Paterno worshippers does little to teach them a lesson. They're still getting what they discarded childrens' lives to protect...Penn State football on Saturdays. I thought the only way to teach them (the University and the blind, rabid worshipers) a real lesson is to take away PSU football for a while so they can realize how bad it really was and what SHOULD be important in life.

Disappointed. At least that bronze idol has been yanked down.

The football program is still intact. To me, that is wrong.
