I think if Snyder is going to be forced to rename the team, they should just remove the name Redskins and have no team name. The media can call the team Washington and I'm sure the fans and much of the public will still call it the Redskins. If they can keep the logo, they should, if not keep the "R" with the feather as the logo.

Best name-change idea I've heard. It'd be quite hard for me to ever call the Redskins by a different name; and if the name does change, I'll likely continue to call the team the Redskins. Dropping the nickname completely is a great solution.

If the name must change, I would prefer that our traditions be preserved by simply referring to the team by our colors: The Washington Burgundy and Gold.

Honestly I was thinking about this earlier today as during my afternoon coffee break I like to search Google News for Redskins stories on my phone, which of course was FILLED with freaking stories about the 50 senators wanting the name change (way to focus on net neutrality guys), and then it hit me.

Snyder actually might be the type of guy to take PETA's suggestion and change the teams mascot to a potato just to spite everyone. I hope it doesn't come to that as it would make great cannon fodder for fans of our rival teams.

I just think it would be a big FU to everyone if the team doesn't have a name. Without a new team name, every fan and the public would continue to call the team Redskins, yet officially the team would not have a name so the media can refer to the team as Washington (which many already do).

The name isn't changing anytime soon. Move along, nothing to see here.

DeSean Jackson: Everybody in locker room 'loved me' - NFL.com

But in this league bro, a lot of people are scared and afraid to speak up, because they feel like they're gonna be the next one cut. They feel like they're gonna be the next one cut. So the ones that really did step up and speak up, I salute all of them.
Pretty much what we suspected. The reason very few Eagles spoke up and told the truth was because they were afraid that Kelly would want them axed next. So it's understandable that only a few, and mostly the more popular players, spoke up publicly. Locker room cancer? Nice try, Chip "A**hat" Kelly.

I agree Chico - they should spend zero time on nonsense, too many "real" issues already that need attention.
Edit: and apparently not enough time to deal with the real issues or there wouldnt be so many. So again - one second spent even pondering an NFL teams name is too much time.

Nothing against dealing with small issues, just stupid ones. An athlete can do whatever he wants on his own time, and if a congressman wants to voice his opinion on the Redskins name on his own time than have at it. I just cannot fathom them discussing such a trivial thing on the job with all the crap going on in the world. Whatevs though.
