The awfulness of these two throws strikes me as being out of character for RGIII. In 2012, he was clutch - I just had the feeling, no matter what, RGIII could pull the game out.

I keep telling myself "He was just rusty, he was just rusty, he was just rusty ..."

I disagree,

behind an O-line that can buy him a few seconds, RG3 could be a great QB

Our O-line though is too porous
The O-Line does suck, but so what? What has he done that would make you believe he is our long term answer at QB?

No one will be our long term answer at QB with our current O-line

you're in fact asking the wrong question.

Its not about QB, its about the lines.

Have weak O and D lines and you will never be a winning team.

I don't care if you have Joe Montana, Steve Young, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning all rolled into one back there, without a good O-line to defend, you'll still lose.

Aaron Rodgers has had a weak Oline ever since he's been in the league

Difference is Aaron and his receivers line up and can read the defense pre snap manning-like. By the time the ball snap, he already knows 8-9 of 10 times knows where the ball is going. the other times he uses his legs to step up or out of the pocket.

To me, this is RG3 biggest weakness, pre snap and pocket presence.

Forget the throws, he can make them all.

Agree 1000%. My fear is that is not so teachable but more of an innate quality hence my "rants" about Griff.

Excellent point.

I'm not piling on Griff - he did a lot of good things that his major detractors missed. But he made the offensive line look worse than it really is by holding the ball.

Rodgers, Brady, and Manning have all played behind suspect OL's and done ok, because they know what RGIII has yet to learn: get the damn ball out, boy! Your back foot hits, the ball comes out, for the good ones.

RGIII can learn to be quicker.

Green Bay's line is far better than what we have, you can't compare the two

Eddie Lacy might disagree.

I think they are very comparable, we are probably a little worse at pass protection, but stronger run block.

Our run game isn't as strong as you seem to think we do a lot of stretch plays to cover for the weakness in our O-line.

From what I've seen of their Offensive line, its a lot stronger at pass protection, and they are a pass oriented team.

Skins are more balanced, and we suck at both really.

Actually Green Bay's line since Rodgers has been there has not been much better than ours. Rodgers just makes it look better.

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Gameday thread

Late in the game, Washington twice took the lead. Bridgewater led drives of 76 and 73 yards to help the Vikings take it back.

The straight-shooting Gruden was candid about the unit’s collapse. There was no way to sugarcoat it.

“We didn’t get off blocks . . . and didn’t cover well enough in the secondary,” Gruden said. “We let them drive [76 yards] to take the lead. We go back down to score and take the lead . . . and they come back again. Very, very, very, very sickening.”

from the post...this was the difference, cant let a rookie qb do that

Re: Redskins vs Vikings Gameday thread

This loss seems like it was absolutely on the defense. It's not like ST gave the Vikings short fields. The offense put a reasonable number of points on the board. Even Griffin's end of half interception, was around midfield. That said, this team needs everyone executing 100% to beat other teams, and so far this season, that's really only happened 2 times.

As for Griffin, the only way his delivery speeds up is by playing the games. So let's see how the rest of the season goes, assuming he stays healthy, and he gets time to develop. Would I wish that it was different, yes, but at this point we know it's not.
