I think it really comes down to what we would have to give up to get him. The #13 pick in this draft? HELL NO! We don't have a 2nd rounder this year and the Broncos will want something right away. Our 1st rounder next year? NO!
From reading the articles in all the reliable papers today it appears Daniel Snyder has the fever for Cutler. When Snyder gets that fever he sometime does regrettable things.
It is like when I get the fever to buy a great car or house. Sometimes you have to step away from the negotiating table and come to your senses before pulling the trigger on a big deal.
I hear you man and this really could sink the Skins for years if he is wrong about Cutler!

If Cutler were not available I would want to see what Campbell could do this year but Cutler being available changes that in my mind.

God let's hope they save us from ourselves. The asking price is WAAAAYYYYY to high for what isn't a major upgrade at QB. Cutler isn't Peyton Manning or Tom Brady.

The Jets make sense for Cutler, the Skins don't.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

Now that Denver apparently just want picks, and not necessarily another starting QB, puts other teams like the Jets, Browns, or Bucs ahead of the game I think. If McDaniels doesn't want another QB, why doesn't he get Peppers and a 2nd rounder from Carolina for Cutler? After the dismal performance by Delhomme, Carolina should want to replace him.

If he was a "franchise" QB, the Broncos would not have been tempted to trade him for a QB who had one partial season with a Super Bowl team who failed to even make the playoffs under his leadership and who had not previously started a game since HIGH SCHOOL.
that had nothing to do with a new coach who groomed a guy that came in and had a convincing showing or anything

agreed.. we let a 1st round qb sit for far too long and we would've known his value by now

Also true: Cutler makes sense for the Jets, and doesn't make sense for the Skins.

Seriously, are they hoping Kellen Clemens or Brad Ratliff can make them winners?

The Lions and the Eagles are the two teams with multiple 1st-round picks. They can release or trade McNabb if they give the Broncos a pick.

I wouldn't be crazy about Philly getting him, but if it prevents us from making this boneheaded deal, I'm all for it.

Snyder, Cerrato, and even Zorn knows they do not want to resign Campbell right now. He is in the bottom third of starting QBs when it comes to TDs, 40+ plays, and 20+ plays. He throws for under 6 yards per pass on average. Zorn wants to attack downfield and that is why Snyderatto hired him. Campbell is not explosive enough and this offense needs more explosive weapons.

Cutler is better at all those above variables that Zorn and the FO value. So might as well make this trade now--spending two #1's and get your guy in place or wait another year, not resign Campbell, and have to spend next year's #1 on another QB that needs to be groomed. Cutler has been groomed and plays in a system related to our WCO. I know we have other needs but we need to score points in this league. The rules are so stacked now to be pro-offense yet the Skins have been painful to watch on offense for years (not counting the games with Todd Collins). I think Cutler will address that better, despite the cost, than having Campbell/a rookie OL or LB...
If we had Cutler, Brandon Lloyd would've caught that pass and still been a threat with us

sorry haha

If Snyder trades for Cutler, he should blow up the entire team.

Why not? I mean, he's going to pay whatever it takes to get him which will put us behind the eight ball to begin with. Then Cutler will spend his first year here learning a new system, after which Snyder will fire Zorn and bring in Shanahan.

Snyder might as well accept the probability that his team won't win the division for at least several years. He should take this time to rebuild the team around Cutler and Haynesworth, as his offensive and defensive anchors.

Then Snyder could pick up some young players and draft picks via trade. He should either initiate or listen to trade offers for any player who is now 30 years old or older. That includes Moss, Samuels, ARE and others. If he needs to throw Cooley into the trade to get Cutler, well, what the hell, the Skins won't be winning for a while anyhow.

BTW, from now on, I won't be referring to the ficticious FO or using the terms "we" or "us" when discussing possible personnel moves. There is only Dan Snyder and his immense ego to consider. Please feel free to correct me if I should slip-up and accidently use any of the above discarded terms in any of my future posts.

The one thing here is that know one wants Campbell and that is the real thing in all this. Most teams have seen what Vinny knowns that Campbell is never going to be the man! If he was other teams would be lined up.

We are still weeks away from the draft and we are hot to trade for this guy?
Snyder needs to a vacation.[/quote]

Permanent vacation to Hades...the weather year round will be perfect for him...since he's the devil.
