Apparently they got that from ESPN and ESPN has since backed off those comments. Shannahan should be ready to be announced tomorrow.
The Texans finished 9-7 and may make the playoffs, why are we still discussing Kubiak?

I sure hope Zimmern comes here, plus doesn't he sort of look like Shanahan?

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal

Ok I'm officially pissed. It was my understanding the Fing NFL informed them the interview was carried out legally. I understand the interview was BS. If I was Gray I wouldn't feel comfortable interviewing for a job that is not vacant and I still work for the man. However "IF" the NFL did say it was ok, how can they decide to change the rules all of a sudden? Pier pressure? Fans and media around the league get to them so they decide to tell DS to conduct another interview? Now that's BS also.

I just wish for once the Fing NFL would get their itshay together and decide the correct answer prior to making a decision. Then you don't have to change it every time.

ESPN just sent out a text that the Skins plan to fire Zorn tomorrow. I guess for the rest of the country this may be considered breaking news...

Shananhan, Kyle, and Zimmer sounds like a great mix.

I just find it hard to believe that Zimmer will be here. He is still coaching and is still focused on the bengals job. How can he come here or have thoughts of coming here even as the Bengals have won thier division and are also lookiing to make a playoff run?

The Bengals will not pay him what he's worth. He'll either get a head coach job or come here. Washington is the more liekly scenario.

b mitch says that he thinks shanahan isnt such a sure thing. on a side note, jerry gray had a very impressive interview after the game. would be interesting what role he plays in this head coaching search

To me all the signs, stars, and rumors point to Shanahan. No one else is even mentioned. It would turn DC upside down if Shanahan said no and went elsewhere.

Oh I'm sure some would be estatic like the ones who don't want him at all but since the break we have heard that he might be coming, 2 weeks ago we heard he was rumored to be the next HC, a week ago the contract was signed and Shanahan ready to take over, fans finally somewhat warm to the idea and BAM... he goes elsewhere.

That would be the ultimate suckage.

Well Parcells has done that twice, to Tampa in '92 and to Atlanta in '07.

If that happens I hope they give Russ Grim a hard look.

I get a sense that B Mitch thinks Gray could be the wild card in this coaching search. B Mitch seems really impressed Gray as well.
I would not be surprised if Gray somehow emerged from this the next HC.

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal

Shanahan is about as sure a thing as a Antwaan Randle El fair catch. But just like ARE busted out a 43 yard punt return today...there's no telling what might happen with Shanahan.
