If they weren't tied to him before, they are now. I bet the cap hit for cutting him means they are stuck with him for at least another three years.

You know what? I am okay with that.

What were their options? Trade for Jason Campbell? Try to get Geno Smith? Matt Barkley?

I could imagine a possible trade to Oakland, Phoenix or NYJ.
Imagine the picks they could fleece from those teams.

According to Doug Baldwin's twitter account, Matt Flynn has been traded to Oakland.

A move I think Oakland will regret. What have they got to trade anyway? Seems to me they just traded a buttload for Palmer.

Tandler's latest post on Real Redskins says there is a chance Oakland releases Palmer. Personally, I don't see it happening. If they do though, who's the top candidates for signing him? Buffalo, or maybe Cleveland?

Ive heard Arizona would be the landing spot for Palmer. Aging QB vets have worked for him in them in the near past, but if they dont improve their Oline...

Well, if they've traded for Flynn, I think it a foregone conclusion that Palmer is gone. Palmer already rejected a 3M pay cut and has intimated he would rather be a back up on a contender than start for a team three or four years away.

He is going to count ~13M against their cap. Can't see how they hold onto both.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013

Maybe the Raider's plan is to sign Vince Young, have him and Flynn battle it out for the starting job.

Gotta feel sorry for the teams who don't have young, exciting, Pro Bowl quarterbacks to lead them to the playoffs. HTTR!

Brown's just got Campbell. Probably Arizona

It's almost like NFL players don't get paid on past results.

Seriously. The guy is set for life off a couple of decent games in Philly and a lot of hype from Andy Reid.
