Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
I liked JD but man people are acting like he was shady McCoy in his prime or something..
Very good scat back and pass catcher but AG can do all that and Patterson showed he can play too. Curtis Samuel was even used as a RB.

I'm gonna miss McKissic though. He not only was great receiving out of the backfield, that man dedicated himself to blocking very well. Hopefully the upgrade at QB will downgrade how much we miss him.

When we lost Trent I was PISSED and the same for Cousins. Those are 2 of the most important positions in sports.. A RB2 is not. It’s not about always being optimistic, we suck ass and have for years. I realize that lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fuck Kurk though. And fuck Scherff too. I don't buy either of their bullshit stories. And we need optimism around here. Glad you're still capable of providing some of it.

You have to resign JD. You just gave McCain 11 mill but didn't resign JD who left for 7?? Not a fan of letting him walk. He was probably insulted that they didn't offer him anything and said FU I'll go play for a winner. He is a better back than Patterson. Samuel can not be counted on it this point. Whatever he gives you is gravy but it probably won't be much.

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
The team has a bad reputation to overcome, that is evident to everyone. I don't think it is helpful to let free agents leave who feel slighted (rightly so in my mind)because we didn't even bother to make an opening offer to them, which would lead to them further criticising the organisation to other players around the league. I don't mind having passed on JDM if they thought he wasn't worth the money, but the report is that they rather arrogantly expected to be given the opportunity to match offers that our FA received, and I see from reporting that was for multiple players. I think the timing of the Bobby McCain signing is not coincidental, as soon as they lost out on JDM, they may have over compensated in the offer they gave him to make sure he accepted.

I would have liked to keep both of them, but JDM is currently the 18th highest paid RB. His production was nice, but not worth that compensation. If I were him, I would have just taken that and ran too. No way Washington was going to pay him like that. There will most definitely be other options to replace that production, including a tweak to the offensive scheme. McCain on the other hand is getting paid like the 26th safety / 30th Cornerback. That seems about right to me. |

Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
this just might be my gut talking i don't have much data to go on but all these big day one FA signing, i mean the majority never really work out. IT gives the fan base something to be excited about sure but does it normally boost a team a ton.
JD adn Logan Thomas are good examples of finding value in FA which takes a hell of alot more thinking then just dropping a billion dollars on one star guy. Remeber when we all wanted Austin Hooper, i totally have Thomas over him now.
