Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread

Race has nothing to do with it. Players are Players. White or Black, it doesn't matter.

When you make it to the NFL, you are expected to be a professional in ALL THINGS. Your race does not give you an exemption from standards.

Vince Young throwing his shoulder pads into the stands is something a 5 year old would do that is having a temper tantrum. Until he can behave at a mature level, he is not deserving of an NFL job, and that has nothing to do with his race.

I agree 100%
I don't think race has anything to do with it either.

But I do believe in unbalanced reporting, to put it lightly.

I'm betting that Coach Fischer take zero or less flack for Pulling Vince Young, then Shanahan did for Pulling McNabb.

Was Vince Young seriously 12-16 for 178 yards and 0 INT's?
Not great,but not terrible either

Mcnabb had 1 pick and was playing very bad.
and getting pounded as well...

So you could make an argument that there was a case to pull Mcnabb, but what about Young?

Was he really that bad for T.Smith or whoever that guy is?...who BTW..threw a pick..lol

I'm just glad we won and Mcnabb played very well

It was how Young handled himself after the game. Extremely unprofessional. THAT is the reason why he is no longer the starter. It's about time pro athletes start acting like grown men.

Skinsguy..I'm talking about the reporting..not race bud.

I'm talking about Shanahan being called a racist by some collumnists and media for pulling Mcnabb.

The BS reporting that the redskins get compared to other teams skinsfan..

Like Hayneworth
Mcnabb pulled
Landry spitting when it was raining..lol

That's what I'm talking about..

McNabb had a bad game and Shanny was labeled a racist after that...

I'm asking you and everyone...
Does Fischer get the same heat??

That's what I ask...

Do you want my personal opinion on the race matter...?

personally,I think the race thing is absolutely crazy stupid?

Specially on Shanny...

So I must ask..How could Shanny be a racist if he trades his 2nd and 3rd round pick for a Black QB?

The media is dumb
and so are those who called Shanny a racist.
That's my opinion

It's tough to know for sure if Fisher would have the same media heat. There is always more of a focal point in D.C., and I'm sure we don't always hear half of what goes on with other teams.

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread

There has been racism in sports, sure. But the decision to bench Vince Young had nothing to do with his race.

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread

This thread has been ruined by these ignorant comments. This is the kind of shit you would see over at Extreme Skins. The Warpath is not racist and does not promote this kind of shit. I'm dissappointed that someone would come here and post something like that.

Well, you know why Farve is still QB, 'cause his back up is black and Chilly is a racist. He & Brett have hoods in their locker.

Please, the black QB thing is so 80's. You want to hang on to it, fine - I bet you find lots of ways to be a victim.

It's ok because DM throws the white guys bad balls and the black guys good passes to compensate.........
It is the Yin and Yang of QB racism in the NFL

Re: Redskins @ Titans game thread

Racism still exists everywhere - even the NFL. Their affirmative action rule that was implemented finally opened the door for Black NFL coaches. The media also has some crazy double standards and how they perceive some stories.

I will say, though, I don't think Vince Young's situations is about his race.

Each black quarterback in the National Football League at some point in his career has been encouraged to move from the position and use his athleticism at skilled spots like running back or wide receiver. Not one has failed to hear the cutting words that he is a better runner than he is a pure passer. Each one has faced his share of brutal jabs about reading defenses poorly, the inference being that black quarterbacks are not mentally up to the task.

As amazing as we looked tonight, A healthy CP really makes the offense look unstoppable. After watching him for the short time he was in, I really miss him.

Me too, his uncanny ability to pick the blitzes and assist us in the passing game is paramount. He looked like the Portis of old today.
