Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Willie Smith was pretty terrible last year. He's a good find for not getting drafted, but let's be realistic..

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Oh really? Did you see him play against against Andre Carter, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jared Allen and Trent Cole? He had a few rough moments (to be expected from a rookie) and got better and held his own against all these guys. I think he could step in and do the job.

Prior to the Vikings game he had allowed seven pressures in 58 snaps. But with that being said, he looked all-pro compared to Mo Hurt and his "attempt" at guard. The stats do not support Willie Smith. He's great insurance though, and he has lots of time to improve.

Willie Smith has the physical skillset and measureables to fit in this scheme. But, I don't want to end up taking Willie Smith potential for guaranteed. I think its smart to get a solid RT that is a clear upgrade from Jammal Brown. If we're drafting RGIII we owe it to him and to ourselves to keep him protected and Jammal Brown and Willie Smith is a huge and unneccesary risk. Upgrade RT and if Willie Smith emerges great, there's no loss there. But if we count and Willie Smith and he fails then we really hinder the productivity of RGIII. |

I'd take RG3 or luck over about 7 Starters in the league today.

Tebow Kolb Bradford Gabbert Dalton Hasselbeck A Smith Freeman Palmer over RG3? We're not drafting some borderline 1st round QB (Campbell), we're drafting a legitimate 1st overall pedigree type of QB. You'll regret that list in 1 year.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Chargers agreed to terms with quarterback Charlie Whitehurst on a two-year contract Friday. So basically the Chargers got two 3rd rounders for nothing...lol

And people always want to talk badly about our FO, sometimes rightly so. But damn if the Seahawks didn't drop the ball on this trade big time.

This whole thing with Clipboard Jesus is probably the last thing the Browns or the Dolphins fans want to hear.
