Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
As much as I am very much against what Haynesworth did, This pissing contest must end soon...It looks like neither side is winning! Albert can't or won't run it and Shanny doesn't have that potential best big man in football and the Redskins lose there money...Its a no win situation.
I keep thinking what is the best way this thing resolves itself...does some sappy football movie plotline happen where the starting defense goes out there with him an help him do this test... kinda like the training of marines for Vietnam in the movie "Full Metal Jacket". The starters like Flecher and Orakpo are only made better with Haynesworth there in the trenches with him... Or maybe just like in that movie they get the bar of soap and wallop on him and tell him "it is just a dream fat boy". I think a little of both is needed. I like what the front office has done in regards to the situation. But right now the only type of movie that is going on at camp is a comedy! Lets get our stuff together and concentrate on the Cowgirls!!! I don't wan't this to be the reason the season sours for us! I think we can be pretty good. |

That statement could mean several things.

Looks like they're going to order an MRI.

I just don't see a happy ending to any of this. At this point, I'd be shocked if he's in the opening day lineup.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
Reporters everywhere are scrambling to get an MRI to see how theirs compares to Haynesworth's. LOL, saw that on twitter

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
Any options of a trade or the team getting rid of Haynesworth at this point is just wishful thinking by fans. Honestly, at this point the media is blowing this up, although right now they are too busy with Favre. There really isn't any type of disruption in camp right now, Hayensworth is saying and doing the right things (well except passing the test), and it seems to be right now an issue of his knee injury. I thought this quote by Shanny today supports what I believe is going on:

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
^ I said that I smell a trade based on precedent. Shanny had a similar situation with Montrae Holland, who was traded before camp was over.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
Actually, this does seem to set up for a trade, if you consider the conversation from a GM point of view.
If BA is trying to gauge the market, he needs to be able to say the knee is not an issue and this is AH trying to push back at the 3-4 scheme. A clean MRI would open the door to a possible trade to most 4-3 teams, who would be sold the fact that AH simply wants a 4-3 team, and shown clips of him stuffing the Giants twice at the 4 yard line. Certainly there has to be some market for him. As for Shanahan's comments you could also interpret them as back handed digs at AH. By saying AH was doing better in drills than he would have thought, Shanahan could be implying that the injury really isn't what is holding AH back. Likewise, by saying that the soreness is getting worse, when it should have been getting better, assuming the MRI comes back clean, is basically calling AH's self report of the condition a lie, or intentional exaggeration. That said, I really hope AH gets off the bench, and gets to work, and plays the season as a Skin. |

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
I don't think Haynesworth is a financial burden for any team right now if he were to be traded. Honestly, what would be more of a barrier is the hype behind him not passing the fitness test. As I said, other than not passing the test, AH has said and done the right things, but I doubt that any team will be able to get by the general opinion of him.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
Now that's funny! If it turns out he has some kind of knee damage these reporters should feel like huge dicks, but they won't, they'll just look for the next stupid topic du jour to pile on.
