I would like the Skins to try and sign Alan Branch. He is young, won't cost much and could be a penetrating DE or NT.

Oooh this is interesting:

"Chris Russell
The #Redskins are closing in on a deal w/ veteran PK Shayne Graham per multiple sources. He is a Radford, VA native & went to VA. Tech."

Anyone know much about Graham? I think he is a pretty good kicker.

Good competition for Gano.

So this is true then? I heard he signed yesterday, then it was in the works, then it wasn't true, then he did sign, then it was a bogus report, and on and on...I couldn't keep up

If it was the same person that told you all that then I would not use them as a source anymore.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Fair enough. You should sit them all down in a room together and have them talk to each other.

Loved him at tech, was solid for cincy but like Gano had an issue shanking short one

I think that he could teach Gano a thing or two but he's likely just here for camp..

Or it's a clever viral marketing attempt, Shayne Graham Gano, with our leg power combined, etc

Shayne Graham would replace Graham Gano.

I wanted the Skins to get him when he was a FA from the Bengals a couple of years ago. Would be an upgrade.

I'm surprised we're giving up on Gano. This would not be a camp-competition signing; Graham is too good for that role to push Gano.

For the past couple of seasons this team has lost a lot of close games. I hope Graham is an improvement over Gano. We need to have a good kicker, this could make a difference in winning those close games.

Don't forget, Gano won about 3 games for us last season too. He actually made the "first" gamewinner against Houston too. Still mad about that timeout rule.

He hit the game winners in OT against the Titans, Jags and was most of the scoring in the win against Green Bay.

He also had a horrible situation with holder and long snapper last season.

The kid has a great leg and I thought he had the potential to be a great long-term kicking solution for us, which is why I'm surprised we're apparently giving up on him. Mike Shahanan seemed to stick up for him a lot last season too.

Uh oh...have we found a new long snapper? Sundberg was HORRIBLE.

I'm assuming Rocca is the new holder.
