Darrell Bevell's offense has quietly been accumulating points this season.

At this point, I don't think an extension is really going to do much good for Mike Shanahan or the team. He can fire Haslett and Kyle, or let them go onto other things, whatever, but even those changes I don't think are enough. I think Shahanan is a brilliant offensive mind, I think he's done a lot of good for the organization as a whole but as a coach on Sunday he's struggled and, well, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

So I probably tell him we will honor your contract but we are not offering an extension. My guess is he says thanks, but I'm not sticking around to be a lame duck coach and goes on his way.

The first thing I would do after that (maybe even before) is accelerate the inevitable, what's been talked about at Redskins Park for the better of a year and promote Bruce Allen to President. Or whatever title is you want to give him, but put him in charge of the business side of things like has been planned.

I let Bruce, Dan, and AJ Smith (mainly because this is already happening) decide on a General Manager. Whether it's promoting someone like Morocco Brown, or bringing in someone from outside.

And then I let the GM decide who will be the HC

What's Lovie's connection/affinity for the Texans? I think you said before he's not coming here. Wondered ever since is the lack of interest mutual or one-sided (and which side)?

Generally speaking, I feel like we should command huge interest from every damn coach in the country. We have some impressive talent, an owner willing to spend amply to win, a great tradition.

I'm sorry, I missed where you said this team has talent? I was laughing so hard milk came out my nose. It might be easier to look at where we DO have talent but lets go with where we don't:

OL- They couldn't stop a leaky faucet. Please don't mention Trent... he needs a snickers cause he's not him self. Hasn't been for 2 yrs now.

WR- Moss is done. He catches maybe 1 ball a game. Morgan is trash. Hankerson shows flashes but not all the time. Garcon can't do everything himself. and Robinson is the new 50/50.

The offensive strong points? QB, FB, RB, and TE.

Lets move to defense:

CB's all need replacing except Amerson. SS/FS need to go and bring in all fresh young talent. As long as I know these new young guys will over time jell and build a report.... I'm in.

The strong points of this defense are: DL (but that's not saying much) and maybe....maybe LB. We need a new young leader with a young healthy motor.

This whole scheme on special teams needs to go. Seems like the 30 yrd line is the place to be. Punter can't kick high enough and far enough. We can't keep giving teams the ball on the 30 yrd line. and we start behind the 10.

You are correct, this team doesnt have much talent at all. IMO, on O they have 3 playmakers, RG3, Garcon, Morris and that's not enough.

Agree with most except TW, he's an all pro and most people have said it during our games

I think Tony Dungy is happy relaxing and mentoring young players/coaches.

Plus after the Shanahan experiment I don't want the Skins to hire a coach that has already built his legacy somewhere else. Rarely if ever do you see NFL coaches sustain success with two different pro teams.
