Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
Cousins has to play well against Dallas for me to believe is an option for next year.
The defense he is playing is one of the worst defenses ever. Matt Flynn just threw for four touchdowns, McCown threw for four the week before. I do not see any reason why his performance cannot be close to theirs, unless he is worst than two backups. He doesn't have to throw 4 touchdowns but I expect him to look great. If he looks bad against Dallas I personally do not think he will be the answer. I know it is bad to judge a QB by one game... but against this defense, I believe it is fair. |

People were saying that you could put Peyton Manning on this current team and he would be horrible all season, so we have to take those same things into account when Cousins starts. Im not saying that Id rather have KC than Griff going forward, just that any qb on this current team is up against it. |

I'm not expecting Cousins to throw four touchdown passes, but if he looks shaky or bad at all... I think the talk about trading RG3 because Cousins will be better should stop. |

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
The only thing clear in all of these leaks is that someone, either Shanahan's camp or Robert's camp, is lying. Lying badly. Considering what we KNOW versus what we are trying to be led to BELIEVE, my money's on Shanahan and his mouthpieces are the ones who're lying; it feels like a naked attempt to make it appear as if all the team's woes are the fault of Robert the "diva QB" and his dad and Mike couldn't win because of interference.
Friggin' gossip columns posing as sports columns. One blogger writes something. Someone else picks it up and now "it's been reported"; the fuel to the fire is the utter lack of any critical thinking whatsoever from too many of those who read this nonsense. And with all due affection, screw what Fletcher has to say about this. He's done, he's retiring and he's been cooked all season long. I'm sick of seeing the back of his jersey. He won't be here next year no matter what way this shakes out, so IDGAF what he has to say. I ain't looking at reports about Mike. I'm looking at results BY Mike. I'm looking at actions taken BY mike. I'm looking at words said BY mike. I'm not looking at reports about Robert. I'm looking at actions taken BY Robert. I'm looking at words said BY Robert. I'm looking at what happens on the field. That's where the only truths we are privy to come from, and the only truths we can KNOW for sure right now are that Mike's actions and words have the team and the fanbase fighting themselves, and he's had full control and final say on the roster and the result is 24-38. And people seem to be ok with this and are willing to buy into the trending narrative of shifting all the blame for this terrible season on the second year rookie QB and his dad, the QB who set NFL records, broke his body for this team, worked his ass off to be back for the team after a season-ending injury that many thought impossible, almost always takes the high road, and even as he was benched asked the fans not to give up on the 'Skins because he still has faith and believes in the team. Jesus tap-dancing Christ. Robert is a "diva QB". Because reports say. Wow. Just wow. Last edited by ashvirtually; 12-18-2013 at 08:12 PM. |

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
For the people concerned about Cousins ints, that's part of having an aggressive offense and that's what we saw last week. RG has had some down right terrible Ints this year as well. It's expected with two young guys. Who would you rather have? Drew Brees or Alex Smith? Brees has had a few seasons where he's thrown 20 and 18 ints. So what? Give me that guy over an Alex Smith anyday. We clearly had a real pass offense for the first time all year....w/out Hank and Reed. For only two starts under his belt, and a guy who hadn't started all year, that was pretty impressive stuff on Sun.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
It's not like Griff has sucked all year. He's had a few good games, but he's had several bad ones. It's obvious that if MS stays, Cousins isn't going anywhere and he's going to let this play out. That's the way it should be.

I think Cousins played well, but at the end of the day neither QB is going to be successful playing behind that line.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday
If RG2 was actually campaigning for Art Briles and helped get him to come here, he would have done more good for the franchise than Shanahan did in 4 years.
