On the other hand McNabb and D Jackson fitting Snyders previous MO perfectly fits past examples of a pattern... as well as the intentional leakage of the previous HC that portrayed Snyder as still being Snyder, multiple media stories supposing the same things and everyone who's NOT a Redskins fan seeing the incredibly obvious. Don't worry if Snyder's fantasy football ever results in great football I will be the first to give the OWNER full credit for making it work. But the part of Redkins football that didn't have Snyder written all over it in the last ten years was a couple months during Marty's short stint, Gibb's 2.0's first season and Shanahan's second offseason. I'm calling RGIII Snyders brain child as well, I've never seen Shanahan fall so in love with a guy who never ran a pro offense, never memorized a playbook, progress through a passing tree, and never had to stand in the pocket to the tune of 3 1st round draft picks... TOTALLY unlike anything Shanahan ever did. Snyder written all over it, I'd be shocked if in 10 years we aren't watching "A Football Life" on the NFL channel about Shanahan's career and we don't find out the truth of that matter... Just like we got to listen to Jimmah Johnson admit on camera that he tanked his first season with the 'Boys intentionally to get the first pick. Hope I'm wrong, please oh please oh please let me be wrong... |

Basically, you have no idea what you're talking about. But you want to rant, so go ahead

Circumstances of acquisition are relevant to who got excited and decided to go get the flashy big name how? 3) supports my contention that Snyder was over involved in the McNabb deal as well, thanks. Unfortunately the present coaching staff was hired by Snyder leading to two obvious conclusions... that they might not be that great at judging (based on past Snyder hires), and that they might be towing the company line... something that tends to happen around notoriously infantile Billionaires with short man complexes. I don't see material differences in these moves... just circumstantial ones. What matters is that in both cases a team (the same team as it turns out) that has a track record of savvy personnel moves no longer wanted the players, and a team with a history of flashy big name moves that fizzle and turn into media circuses DID want them (in both cases as it turns out). We shall see, I hope we see DeSean burning DB's and turning into a great signing. I expect to see some burnt DB's yes, but also some pouting under adversity, some over focus by the media on him, some ugly stories printed the night before big games... you know the usual... |

He has not been involved in the management of the team more so than any other of the supposed "good" owners. Even his involvement dating back was overstated at times and certainly oversimplified. The correct view about DS is that he HAS failed repeatedly to get the right people to make the decisions that everyone (fans and media) alike have decided he shouldn't make. |

If you had said you worry about the move because we could have used that money at a position of greater need, DeSean Jackson has been known to slack off sometimes when things don't go his way, Desean Jackson struggles over the middle in traffic especially if you are physical with him early, it's concerning that the Eagles would just let him go when he's a the peak of his career...any of those things, then I could see your point. But instead you said this is just like the McNabb deal, which it is not. No matter how much you want to say it is, it's not. So no, your opinion doesn't deserve my approval

Regardless, I think we get your general point in that big FA moves don't always pan out, but at least we didn't set the franchise back a few picks. I personally think positions like WR or CB should translate on a different team. Most other positions may or may not pan out with different schemes, etc. I suspect DJax will be good if he stays healthy and RG3 can deliver the ball. |

Well don't pigeon hole it to sports media. I'm in sports media, I don't have that mentality. Others who aren't in it, do have that mentality

Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
The Jackson signing was an opportunity, we had our cap in order and we made a play on a player that kills us. It was unexpected as far as no one knew Chip was gonna release Jackson. In the past we wait on free agents knowing we are gonna break the bank. We have to sell our soul for a player. Jackson situation is the opposite.

Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
The Redskins took a player away from a Division rival. Doesn't that count for anything or is that just Fantasy Football stupidity?
