It was just a man trying to get back what was rightfully his.
Why are the odds bad for him?? Just because the DA expands the charges doesn't mean he necessarily has any more damning evidence.

It's very possible the DA is trying to intimidate Taylor into a plea.

It looks that way to me. It also indicates that the DA isn't confident in the original charge--otherwise, he stands pat. I just hope Taylor's lawyer is up to snuff, and that the jury isn't filled with ugly cowroid fans!

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

Sean Taylor isnt going ot get charged, because this case has more holes than Augusta National. (I thought that one up by myself, btw). Part of me still cant wait for this to be over though.

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

I think the D.A's trying to make a name for himself. Kinda like another one of his peers tried to do in Colorado. How well did that go? It went well enough to waste a boat load of the tax payers money we know that. And for what? So he could show the world that every one is the same in the eyes of the law? I bet if this was an off duty Police officer trying to get his ATV's back we would never have heard about it.

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

Why is the DA trying to make a name for himself? he is doing his job. If someone pulls a gun on me I want them to spend some time in jail no matter who they are.

I love ST too but he ****ed up. Its not up to the DA to show mercy.

I agree. But once all the fact's are out we will all see the truth. The D.A is obvisouly trying to make an example out of S.T. Why else would he try to stop him from playing football this past season? And why did he wait untill now to file the other felonies against Sean? Sounds a little like a witch hunt to me. I smell a rat that's all I'm saying.

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

Here's an easy way to avoid facing hard time in prison: Don't pull a gun on someone. Buy another ATV with your millions.

Losing ST would devastate the defense.

The DA didn't really object to Taylor's first request for a continuance, postponing the trial from October to January. He didn't really stop him from trying to play football during the regular season.

As for the other felonies, the DA is doing one of two things:
1) Trying to scare Taylor into accepting a plea
2) Spreading his eggs over three baskets. Maybe he can't prove that Taylor fired a gun at a couple of the victims. But he's more confident in nailing him for the third victim.

I don't perceive that the DA is out to get Taylor. I just think he's doing his job. But in the end, I still don't think the DA has the evidence he needs.

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

They are out to get taylor. THey offered his friend coughlin or whoever a get out of jail free card to testify against taylro and he chased some guy down with a baseball bat. a gun and a baseball bat should be the same thing expecially if coughlin started to swing it around. WTF.

SO there will still be one big trial with four counts. That is some bull shit.

Re: Sean Taylor's Legal Situation

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...101914_pf.html
'What they are doing is using Charles as a pawn to get the top prize: Sean Taylor," said Caughman's attorney, Evan Hoffman , who said his client -- who knows Taylor casually -- was on vacation in Miami when the June 1 incident occurred. "They could have filed a misdemeanor against my client. But there's a headhunt for Sean Taylor, and we don't need to be caught in the middle of it. We're going to explore all our options, and do what's best for Charles.

"The state wants to resolve our case on July 11. But right now we have no reason to cooperate. I don't see the court proving its case."'
---------------------

Caughman was facing 15 years yet they would allow him to get off just to testify against taylor?? That means they have no shit on taylor and they are out to get him.

Honestly i would say 46 years is beyond rediculous. I think after 5 someone would be "rehabilitated". I also wouldn't know what happened and the same is true here. There has been more coverage of this from the exact order of things that happened to Taylor taking a lie detector test to caughman not testifying against taylor and now the apparent head hunt for taylor.

I agree plus it's not like he shot the guy....WTF but does it not make you think about how many people in a similar situation get thrown in jail for all of those 46 years?
