Browns | Jurevicius agrees to a four-year deal
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 14:49:29 -0800 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports free agent WR Joe Jurevicius (Seahawks) has agreed to a four-year deal worth about $10 million with the Cleveland Browns. damn, if he was willing to move (which i doubted) he would have been a great pickup. 2.5mill per? that's peanuts to us. I'd assume this means that bryant isn't coming back unless he's cheap. |

Nice move by the Browns. I didn't think he'd move that far either

Packers | Contract update: A. Kampman
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 14:49:56 -0800 ESPN.com's John Clayton and Len Pasquarelli report Green Bay Packers DE Aaron Kampman signed a five-year, $25 million deal that included $11 million in guarantees to remain with the team. he's worth it, but i don't think other teams would have really bid that contract up a whole lot over 25mill. |

THE NEWS
Restricted free agent wide receiver Brandon Lloyd has a new home. The Redskins acquired the disgruntled wide receiver via trade from the 49ers, sending their third-round pick this year and next year's fourth-round selection to San Francisco. Our View Lloyd finished last season with 48 receptions for 733 yards and five touchdowns but is a better receiver than his numbers suggest. The third-year receiver has been stuck catching passes from the likes of Alex Smith, Tim Rattay, Ken Dorsey, and Cody Pickett. In DC, Lloyd and Santana Moss present a very formidable receiver duo, and B-Lloyd's fantasy stock climbs significantly. Source: Fanball.com |

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread
JJ would have been fine. lloyd is better talent wise, i'm worried about his character issues... I guess we just wait and see if he starts shit here now that he's a skin.
do you try to bring in R'El still? what are the new contract numbers for lloyd? |

Vikings | C. Taylor signed
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 17:30:19 -0800 Mark Craig, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent RB Chester Taylor (Ravens). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Vikings | Leber signed Sat, 11 Mar 2006 17:29:50 -0800 Mark Craig, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings have signed free agent LB Ben Leber (Chargers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. they also got longwell. chester isn't exactly the a1 feature back you want and ditching daunte and B williams is a mistake, but they are making a couple decent moves... they seem to be shooting straight for the 2nd tier of FA though. Being cheap i guess. |

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread
Taylor is a pretty decent back. Sure, he's no LT or even a Portis, but considering who the Vikes have... Brittle Bennett, The Whizzinator, and Less Is Moore... yeah, Chester is a huge upgrade IMO.
I'm fairly surprised the Ravens let him get away. Sometimes I think Billick is so stubborn he'd rather lose than give up on one of his "guys". |
