Re: Tecmo league/tournament
I'm practicing now. After getting my ass handed to me 51-14 against Bo Jackson and the Raiders, I'm back to .500. Clearly, I need some catch up time.
So when do we start this? Also, when you play against an online opponent, do your players' physical conditions carry over if you're in the middle of a season? My AIM ID is Beemnseven. |

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
This game is a little tricky. I didn't really start playing football until the first Madden game. I've got a lot of work to do...

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
Well, I played my first game against an online opponent. It wasn't pretty. I'm used to playing from left-to-right. For the first time in years, I played from right-to-left. It takes some time getting used to that.
There was some serious lag effect, but we were able to play through it. I also need some practice controlling the players with the joystick as opposed to using the directional pad. Anyone know if you can use the D-pad instead? |

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
Yeah there still is a bit of lag, but trust me it's horrible when playing someone who has dial-up. Not even worth it.
I played my first online game in a few years yesterday with the Bucs and I beat this kid who used the Skins 13-10 in OT. Beems, you can use a d-pad. You just configure it the same as you did a joystick. |

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
I'm 0-2 so far on the Tecmo Players Circuit. I used the Oilers both times -- my opponent used the 49ers the first game and beat me 35-14. One of his scores was a fumble return, and the other was a kickoff return when I inadvertently tried an onside kick -- the lag time screwed me up. You have to anticipate the lag effect with the kickoff.
The second game the same guy beat me 20-14 in OT using the Browns. For some reason, Warren Moon was WAY off -- I was only able to manage 33% completion on passes. Usually he's better than that. How exactly would you configure the controller to use the D-pad? I tried it but it wouldn't work. |

What controller are you using exactly?

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
I'm using a Logitech contoller -- same configuration as the Playstation, -- 4 buttons on the right, 2 joysticks, and a directional pad on the left.

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
So, has everybody had a chance to warm up so we can get this tournament going?

Re: Tecmo league/tournament
That's cool, no hurry -- I can use the extra practice, I'm 0-4 so far against TPC opponents.
SS, did you ever get your controller to work? |
