I like macs, I don't however feel superior or try to push them on other people, I also don't want anything to do with an iphone for that price, heck I don't even want an ipod do to the Hipster attitude that they seem to encompass. I heard the youtube videos don't even play smoothly

So what is up with all these issues with the phone.

FYI, that is common for a new phone to have a slew of problems.

The guy I carpool to work with bought one. It is a pretty amazing device. Very smooth graphics and transitions and crisp screen. The google maps feature works very fast, but the browser is a little slow, although still at least twice as fast as my blackberry internet connection.

I won't buy one now, but from the half hour I got to try it out this morning, I'll definitely consider one after the price drops a hundred bucks and the second generation is released.

It is a freakin telephone. Now I understand that the advances in modern technology are wonderfull, but seriously "a telephone". 500-600 for a piece of equipment. It is more expensive than some PC's, but doesnt do quite as much. I remember the days when it only cost a quarter for a phone call. Now you have blackberry's, ipbones, palm pilots and so on and so forth. But what is so spectacular about these things that a person just has to have one?

I just think it is so ironic that on one thread people are talking about how much they pay in taxes and how there are all of these problems in America and around the world, but you are spending $500 on a Fu***** cell phone!

I only support it when there is something out there that really just does not make any sense. This iphone thing is one of them.

That's cool. I've got no problem with you thinking it's too much money. I agree. But there isn't much difference between buying the iPhone and buying a signed skins jersey, or season tickets. All are highly valued by some, but insanely overpriced to others. At least you'd use the iPhone every day and you get the best mp3 and video player on the market along with some other gadgets. Once the memory hits 20GB and the price drops, I'll likely buy one.

I do not own an autographed skins Jersey and the season tickets are shared by my extended family. In other words I do not get to attend every game. I refuse to but a PS3 because of the cost, regardless of how much I want to play Madden 08. I spent 800+ dollars on my brothers Bachelor party last weekend and I am still kicking myself for that. We could have had just as much fun for 75 to 100.

I don't know if its the best video player on the market. There are somethings that can do a lot more with video like recording directly off the television but yeah, some of those run at $500 so this being able to do this much may be worth it. Then again some of those have been out for years and are pretty cheap now, 250ish. SOme also allow web surfing and have been out for a while and decreased in price at about 350 and they have a shit load more memory so....

Yeah good point, it's all what the individual values. What I'd be willing to spend a good amount of money on is probably totally different from what someone else might spend money on.

$600 for the iphone might sound crazy, but for alot of people it's obviously not since they've sold 500,000 plus units so far.

How stupid could you be not even knowing the rules to buy. That would only be COMMON sense to be able to buy one on the first day of release, from any given store at a time.....? SUCKER

Nice of her to buy the kid a phone for his spot for $800, and cash left over, SWEET FOR HIM!

Re: How many of you phone nuts are getting this apple iphone thing?

I have to admit I can totally imagine myself having one someday. Just not at the current price tag. Maybe when my current phone is due for an upgrade next year I'll consider it.

MySpaceTV: The IPhone by adam

Now if it really did all of this, then it would be worth 5-6 hundred dollars.
