Under the assumption that every team we play this year will be better offensively than Miami, I was really hoping that we wouldn't give up 17 first downs. We wouldn't have if the tackling was better, but they also dropped a lot of passes. The numbers look good, and show that we really dominated that game, but I was unimpressed by the defense.

The offense was promising but flawed. O Line did a good job, Campbell played well, Randle El and the backs played great.

Outplaying the Dolphins was something we were supposed to do, but I wanted more out of this team.

You are a complete douchbag and know nothing about Redskins football. Go watch tapes of the Norv years.

This isn't the first time you've personally insulted GTripp on this site, and not the first time you've been warned. Take the next two weeks off.

I suggest you stop incriminating yourself before I embarrass you.

You have fair warning.

Do not take this into your own hands. The mods have handled it.

We held Miami to 64 yards rushing. I think that's pretty damn good. Last year that would have been 164 yards. Yes the corners were playing a little soft. But over all when you hold a team to 13 points that's doing your job. There is a big difference between this year and last year.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP

I was impressed with the linebackers and the defensive line. The corners really exposed themselves as a weakness on this team, and we won't get away with tons of dropped passes against Philli.

Then again, it looked like GW wanted to give them the underneath, and they took advantage of that. Every pass play their wide receivers sold the deep routes to our corners. They're obviously very sensitive to the deep ball, and I'm assuming GW has drilled them to prevent the deep pass.

I'm hoping that they take the million yard cushion down a few yards, and pay better attention to the opponents body language. A few plays the WR wouldn't do as much as start to jog forward and Smoot just bailed out deep.... If he just paid more attention then a lot of those underneath plays could have been prevented.

I also think we didn't bring the pain yet with the blitz, I think his game plan was to back off and confuse Trent Green. If you think about it, Green was probably told to watch out for the crazy blitzes, and when they didn't come he had to just dump it off underneath.

T. Green (9/9/07): 24/38, 219 yards, 1 TD
B. Johnson (9/11/06): 16/30, 223 yards, 1 TD

Dolphins runners (9/9/07): 20 att, 76 yards
Vikings runners (9/11/06): 33 att, 86 yards

Not so different?

Especially when you consider the way we ended last season against the Giants with Tiki getting close to 240 yards rushing on us

One? Turnover-wise this was not a good game for us. We threw two interceptions, caught none, and recovered all three fumbles in the game (2 of our own 1 of theirs), a pretty lucky feat. If we lose the Portis fumble and the Sellers one does not roll out of bounds, we're 0-1 right now.

We didn't give up a lot of points in either game, but that doesn't mean there isn't something to worry about. Once again we gave away first downs like candy to an offense that is not very good at all. This is how last year started.

Doesn't mean I think we are doomed; far from it, but I'm much more encouraged by the offense right now because Santana has proven that these drops are not something that will be a problem down the road.

The run defense was pretty good. Even though the tackling was a little shoddy, my prediction of Ronnie Brown racking up 100 yards was well off the mark as the entire team only got like 75. That's a good thing. Problem is, if we continue to miss tackles, better offenses will run all over us.

We did get gashed up the middle periodically, but we made up for it by absolutely giving them nothing around the ends all day. That was very encouraging.
