None of the heroes this team has put on the field for the past decade can even aspire to be a jock-sniffer in the elite status that Randy Moss and a few other WRs in NFL history inhabit.

In case I haven't made myself clear, Randy Moss is so much better than any WR the Redskins have been able to put on the field in the past 30 years that it isn't even worthy of discussion.

So ... should the Skins try to sign him? No!

Randy Moss has shown in college and in the NFL that he excels under two different sets of circumstances:

1. HE is THE man and the focus of ALL the offensive accolades for the team.

or

2. The team is destined for the Super Bowl - - or better yet - - is destined to be undefeated for the season.

Neither of these conditions is likely to obtain in Washington in 2008 or 2009 or 2010 and that's the length of time - at a minimum - it will take to sign Moss and pay him and have his guaranteed money spread out sufficiently that it does not turn him into a salary cap nightmare.

Bottom Line: He's not worth the risk/cost.
I couldnt have said it better myself. The Skins dont win enough to keep Moss happy and out of trouble. He might be worth the risk/cost for some teams but not the Skins.

Well this all may be a dead issue. Just read that the reason that the Pats did not franchise Moss is because they may be close to a new long-term deal.

Article goes on to say that the new deal won't be announced until February 29th, the start of the new "NFL year".

Sure he was...his talent is unquestioned. However assume he's a redskin and he is not catching 23 TD's because JC is not Tom Brady...and on top of him not having huge numbers imagine the skins are around a .500 team. Then do we start seeing the Randy Moss that sulks and misses half a season with mysterious groin issues? Everyone wants to credit the wonderful Pats locker room for keeping Moss in line. The reality is that we don't know whether Moss is really changed or not becasue that team had no adversity...people show thier true character at times of adversity. 16-0 teams don't have any adversity.

If I were say Randy Moss I would take a different route to a place where a teams front office might appreciate him more.

Would I like to see him in B&G, I haved mixed feelings on that and you cant say he effects the offense where ever he goes just look what he did in Oakland. He may be a risky investment but maybe he can make some slacker team a contender.
How do you even know that the reason that they did not frncise him is because they are close to a deal and there was no need to do so.
