Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I spect our d is going to be fucking jacked up this weekend. That said the Saints will still put up 10 to 14 points on breakout plays and... I don't see us scoring more than 6 or 7 points a game early in the season.

I think I hate myself.

It is early in the season and I think that our defense can hold their offense to under 20 points. Their backfield isn't like the Giants where you basically have a lineman in the backfield plowing his way into our defensive secondary. I like our chances, but we really need this game to protect our homefield advantage. That being said, we will be getting harder challenges from teams like the steelers and the browns where we may lose those games and it will be imperative to stay afloat in the NFC playoff chase.

YOu know that will be huge, They don 't have rb's who can run us over. Duece probly won't play much, Without Colston we can concertrate more on the run. And we should be able to run, The bucs did and their O-line sucks. That will open up the passing game perhaps giving JC some confidence to carryover in the coming wks. Go SKINS! 23-10

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I didn't predict last week but I voted for the Giants.

It's the home opener.. If Zorn/JC don't want bad press and the boo-birds all over their ass.. Its a must win.

Skins - 17
Saints - 16

I disagree. I know a W is a W and an L is an L... BUT, I think if the offense looks good and scores 2-3 TDs and we lose a close game to a high octane offense, the press won't be awful. I think progress is what's most important.

If we come out and look as uncomfortable and lost as we did last Thursday, then every bit of bad press will be deserved.

Must win wasn't the greatest choice of words. This was more what I was trying to get at.

Pretty much, we need a win to save face..

But I agree with what you said. If we look good, naysayers will either jump on the bandwagon and say, "I knew it all along" or will be nowhere to be seen. But if we lose, pointed fingers will be abound.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

defense will be better (healthier springs taylor and landry) - the saints are down colston, and duece and stecker missed last game too... so if our offense can show some signs of life, it's perfectly winnable. our D tends to gameplan well for this kind of team too.

i homer'd my pick, but i can see us losing to offensive ineptitude just as easily.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

I think we lose, but we'll play much better. The Saints don't have a scary pass rush like the Giants, so I think JC will find a rhythm and Portis will gain some yards on the ground.

But in the end Drew Brees methodically gets to us. Even without Colston, the Saints have a lot of weapons to cover. I think we'll take care of the deep threat OK, and neutralize Patten and D Henderson. But Shockey and Bush will get us with underneath stuff and Brees will make just enough plays.

Saints by at least two touchdowns. If we can't keep our D off the field for more than a couple of three and outs, it's going to get really ugly.

Re: Redskins vs. Saints predictions

The way the O looked last week, I'll be happy with 2 touchdowns, and a FG. I think our D can contain thier offense, and Reggie Bush isn't going to have the game he had last week with the receiving numbers, our LB's are too good for that.
With that said, I'm going to go with 14-10 skins win with a TD in the 4th QTR. A LL interception kills all hopes of a game winning drive by NO.

31-13 Who-dats.. I hate to say it, but last week I KNEW we were beating the Giants so maybe a little reverse psychology will work it out.
