Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I can understand that but how'd you feel if I said you were a pretty worthless poster around here and you ought grow up a little and do a better job of not being an idiot? On top of that I think you've been a pretty large disappointment on the path for a long time and you're getting way too muchy credit for things. Now I don't believe those things but when a guy is CONSTANTLY throwing shit at you I don't blame CP at all for getting pissed and calling him out. Maybe he shouldn't get all testosteroned up but I don't know that I blame him.

. I see what you are saying, though. Especially if you are getting flack for many years. I don't know what I would've done in CP's situation, but I just think he sounded really bad in the interview. Whenever I get worked up about stuff like that, I've always noticed my immediate response/words usually provide little to no benefit. I also feel the same way about guests on the O'Rielly(sp) factor. Bill has the right to say whatever retarded nonsense he wants, but guests have to be better than and respond cleverly and calmly. They get on and stoop down to Bill's level, which just makes them worst. Exhibit A, Camron: Exhibit B, how to do it right, Colbert: Now CP didnt sound that out of control as Camron, but when you get angry, good logic and points just dont weigh as much.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
BTW CP is mad that Mitch takes shots at CP for sharing carries with Ladell, CPs comments last week about the line, etc.
EDIT: what really hurts Portis in this argument is that he is pretty much suggesting that he should fight with Mitch.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I got the distinct impression from CP's comments that he was frustrated by the injuries and having to deal with little to no passing game. He actually pointed out that he is constantly facing 8 man boxes. I didn't get the impression at all that he thought this o-line sucked. Just that it hadn't been as good as he'd like because of injuries and shuffling. The commenst about running behind another line were in the same vein. I really didn't have any issue with what he said other than I knew people would take it wrong if they wanted to.

B Mitch has been calling Portis out seemingly since the day he arrived. It's been pretty tense for a few years now between those guys.

If he runs as well as he has the first two weeks, I hope he gets pissed a whole lot this year.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, now B Mitch knows that Portis isn't the guy to pick on. And knowing is half the battle (the other half was in the parking lot).

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
B-Mitch is right on this one. CP likes to shoot his mouth off and when he gets called on it he doesnt like it. What was amazing is that all the callers to the Sports Reporters show backed B-Mitch. I think fans are getting sick of CP's antics.

In any case, B-Mitch was largely calling Portis out for his conditioning and commitment. With regard to Portis' bitching, you've agreed with his comments. You said he's facing 8 and 9 man fronts with no running room because teams don't respect our passing attack. |

B-Mitch is paid to make comments about the team and if that gets under people's skin that goes with the territory. If B-Mitch doesnt make interesting and sometimes controversial comments then he wont have a job for long. CP is a typical immature athlete who likes to make comments that he thinks are funny or in depth then gets angry when people dont think he's a genius. CP brought on B-Mitch's questions with his comments last week (which had the Skins lost would have become an even bigger deal) and B-Mitch's comments about CP in the past put a chip on CP's shoulder before any questions were asked. CP needed to control himself and answer in a way that makes B-Mitch look like the bad guy but to nobody's surprise he acts like a typical 13yr old. |

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
But Mitch isnt an athlete (anymore) and its his job to make comments (sometimes outrageous). Its CP's job to run the football, catch the football and block. IMO CP came into this interview with a chip on his shoulder for Mitch and when he "attacked" Mitch wouldnt roll over like most media types do so the interview kind of went out of control from there (actually it was funny as hell).

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Portis essentially said that teams do not respect our passing attack, they stack the box to stop Portis, and backs from other teams with other passing attacks, non-patchwork olines, and other schemes wouldn't do as well as he has in D.C. You've made statements that seem to concur wholeheartedly with Portis' comments.
