The idea that Danny would totally tank a PLAYOFF team for a year with the hope of getting Bill Cowher is ridiculous. If he would do such a thing he would fall right into the same category of the William Clay Ford's and Al Davis' of the league. No way. Just lock this thing.

Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
I thought I remember reading an article that stated that the reason Zorn got the head coaching job was that Synder and Vinny were very impressed with Zorn and were worried about him being offered a head coaching job in a year or two and losing him.
Image if Zorn was still the offensive coordinator and were 4 and 1. He probably would be in the talks for a head coaching job, just from the turn around this offense has made. And there are a lot of vacancies this year.

Re: Snyder's Possible Head Coach Smokescreen
We'll never know what Danny Boy was thinking. He's done some wacky things and he may have been thinking of Cowher-in-a-year, as irrational as that would be.
Maybe he really wanted Zorn. Gibbs was an unknown offensive guru and maybe Danny wanted to repeat that pattern. But it doesn't matter what he was thinking now. Long term, I'll bet that Zorn wins more rings than Cowher. Whether by design or accident, I think we have the right man now. |
