Re: Steelers Saturday
1. I want to see no major injuries.
2. I want to see at least one good scoring driving from the first string offensive line. It doesn't matter if it's a field goal or touchdown. I just want to see a sustained drive. 3. I would like to see better production on special teams. I think there is a great opportunity for someone to win the punt returner responsibilities. The punter looked good in the first game, continue the good work. Didn't get a chance to see the placekicker. 4. I want to see the offensive line keep all the quarterbacks upright. I couple of nice runs would be satisfying. 5. I want to see better coverage in the secondary. I thought the coverage was poor. Tryon and Barnes particularly have to improve. 6. I want to see Malcolm Kelly or Devin Thomas work with the first string offense in a three wide receiver sets. Number 80, can't recall his name, didn't impress me. 7. The defensive line is looking like the strength of the team. They are getting to the passer, but I would like to see them wrap up the quarterback better. 8. I want to see Zorn punch an assistant coach in the face!

Re: Steelers Saturday
Most of all, I want to see Albert Haynesworth play. I especially want to see him work with Griffin because I think they'll be a dynamite combination.
I'd like to see the O play better. I'd also like the coaching staff keep things pretty basic on offense and defense so it will be easier for me to get a better feel for the guys who can make plays (and those who can't). |

Re: Steelers Saturday
This is the perfect game for Portis to sit out. The Steelers blitz so much, it would be good to see how the other RB's pick up the blitzes. If you can handle the Steelers, you will be ready for the Giants' D.

Re: Steelers Saturday
I think all of the qb's will rotate and get time with the 1st and 2nd team offenses.. you cant just leave CB and Chase to be thrown to the wolves.. Zorn said that the protection failed CB in the 1st game. i think he may move him up to give him a better chance to show something. That may also be why we didnt see Chase in that game.1st yr guy, dont ruin his confidence behind a line that cant give him protection.

Also, on the overthrow to Hagans, Campbell said he wasn't even part of his progressions. Well, somehow the Ravens knew that as well, since they left him wide open.

Re: Steelers Saturday
Ed Sheahin's rapid report pretty much echos exactly what SS said:
"7:16:56 am With QB Colt Brennan expected to see action early against the Steelers, look for QB Chase Daniel to make his Redskins debut. Daniel was held out against the Ravens."

Re: Steelers Saturday
If he completely outplays Colt, is there anyway the Redskins go into the season with Campbell, Collins, and Daniel as the quarterbacks? Or is he playing for Collins' spot, and based on that, at least somewhat reliant on Colt's competancy?

Technically, Colt could go on the practice squad but he'd be picked up by another team right away. Actually, could he go on the practice squad? I'm not sure he could. You're right though that he is somewhat reliant on Colt. I mean if Colt can outplay Collins, then the team might think well we're not going to make Collins the #3 QB so why not Chase.

Re: Steelers Saturday
Zorns been praising Colt, and of course campbell will be our starter. And sure Collins isn't as liked/talked about, as the other 3 QB's, but if campbell were to go down, Zorn would want an experienced vet, than a very liked young unproven guy. So I expect to see Daniels be on the practice squad.
