What made Brett Favre great this season, he didn't make the bonehead plays all season like he did in the NFC Championship. What I saw was the old Brett Favre, the gunslinger, the riverboat gambler that attempted to force the ball into coverage and throw interceptions at the worst point in the game. Some might call that entertaining but I call it dumb football. Greatest of all time...NOT!

greatest of all time? no. but what about greatest 40 yr old qb?

im a big favre fan, was real happy to follow him this year, those vikings-packers games were some of the best reg season games this year.

i think hes done though. he took a beating and said after the game that he was mentally and physically spent.

thank you brett favre, you've been hella fun to watch.

TJ would have gotten his ass handed to him this year given the drop off of their O-line and run game.

If you think TJ could have held a candle to the numbers Favre put up this year, you were watching a different QB than I was last year. If folks want to dog on Favre for his arrogance/selfishness/dumb ints, that fine, but I give props when a guy plays lights out, and that is what Favre did this year. +24 TD ratio, 107 rating...I mean c'mon, dude was a gamer this year.

imo favre helped rodgers be the player he is. you follow someone like favre you gotta pick up on his leadership and how he carries himself. no one here really knows what went on and i think rodgers just doesn't appreciate what he learned behind a legend..

Didn't the great one say it was not his job to teach Rodgers when the Pack drafted Rodgers? What was better than the Vikes getting beat was it was Bretts bad throw.

I was on a work trip the week before the game and there were a couple of Favre acolytes there (one claimed to be a Bears fan?). I told them that he was way to careless with the ball in big games and that he'd throw a pick and cost them the game as usual. Just shows how much the media rides his jock that they all thought I was crazy.

I didn't need a crystal ball... Brett's 2 pick game was about par for the course.

Fun facts:

If you count only QBs with 10 or more playoff games, Brett is 17th in winning percentage (he's barely above .500). Lower your games played threshold for inclusion and he drops lower.

Brett holds both the career playoff and regular season INT records.

Brett averages over 2 INTs/game in the playoffs. This has been slightly more pronounced since the two Super Bowl appearances.

Summary:

If you want to pick a guy to win a playoff game, he should not be mentioned in the same breath as Brady, Bradshaw, Aikman, Montana, Warner, Elway, Staubach.

If you want to have a guy that will always be around, always start, always be exciting, and almost always get you to the playoffs he's your guy.

Great QB, great fun to watch, definitely an iron man, but not anywhere near top 5 all time.
