in 3 years, when the best we do with Gibbs is 6 wins, you will view me as a prophet. ...wait a minute, no we dont, they have a coach who gets their players to perform ABOVE what is expected, not below. :smashfrea

Dallas is 3-4 coming off a 10-6 season, are they really performing above expectations?

First, while I would no longer bet on it, I wouldn't be surprised if we got at least 6 wins this season (only 4 more to go!) Second, Gibbs will build on this season. Even if we don't get 6 wins, having Gibbs brings stability and will help this team learn that a losing season doesn't mean that you fly into panic mode and make changes for change sake. This team will grow and bond and will be better next year. And without, I hope, a lot of new faces.

And, finally, who would really want the Tuna for their coach? He's better than Spurrier, but he's certainly no Gibbs...

They have a 40 something QB, a banged up RB. We have Mark, and Portis, both of whom are better than what Dallas posseses. We have Coles, who is better than Keyshawn. Our defense is better than theres. Gibbs would be 1-6 with Dallas. Big Bill would have us at 5-2, if not 6-1.

Put the kool aid down and come back to reality dude. This is a marathon not a 100 hundred meter dash. Gibbs is no worse of a coach than he was 12 years ago. My expectation for this season was 8-8 and I think we are still on target even with the poor play of our QB.

I think he's hitting something a bit stronger than kool-aid, perhaps a swig of denim_monger's famous moonshine?

ZachMills, what's up with you dude? Why such negativity towards Joe Gibbs? If your going to keep attacking Gibbs at least have some reasoning other than your own opinion. Throw a few facts in that support your arguments (if you can find any). Take a look at any of JoeCrisp's posts. Now that man knows how to back up an argument with facts...Even SportsCurmudgeon, although I disagree with most of his posts, I respect his opinion because he uses facts to support his arguments. Maybe that way, at least people will respect what you write...

Part of me thinks you are doing this just to be a PITA.

ZackMills, exactly how old are you? Are you old enough to remember watching the Redskins under Gibbs the first time around? How many games this year have we been blown out of? Had no chance of winning? This year for the most part is about building the foundation of a solid team...and that is what we will have before Gibbs decides to hang it up for good. That isn't a hopefully remark, that is a fact. Sure 2 - 5 doesn't look good at all.....0 - 5 during Gibbs' first year didn't look good either but they ended up 8-8 and in the Super Bowl the next year. To even assume that the Redskins will always be a team under .500 while under Gibbs' watch is completely idiotic. We might end up under .500 this year, but I will bet ya at worst it will be 7-9. THAT will still be an improvement on 5 - 11 from the previous year. I for one, will not be a fair weather fan and will ride the Gibbs' bandwagon until the wheels fall off and he decides to retire.

joecrisp is sorta lame though. zackmills is just venting his frustration. so what if someone is having their doubts bashing gibbs? and so what if everything works out and they eventually celebrate the success. the problem is everyone here is in denial to an extent. we are a bad team right now. so the comments should be in accordance with our record. yeah we might get better, we might stay crappy. maybe it's just me but you can only care but so much about football. i only let my emotions run high when we're doing well. not worth it when we're sucking. they're the ones losing, not me.. so i only get minorly irritated. they're the ones getting paid (including joe gibbs). so if they mess up or suck, they deserve a little negativity. they are football players, not little kids. so lighten up when someone says something bad about them, stop living in denial... chill out a little.

First of all, what's with the attack on joecrisp? Where did that come from? Secondly, tell me if I read this wrong, but are you saying basically that you're only a fan when the Skins are winning? I'm sure you refer to them as "us" or "we" in those cases. And we're they're losing then suddenly it's "I don't care. They're the losers. Not me"

Here's your weather forecast for today: Fair

Joe Crisp is the sanest person on this board. If he was running for president I'd vote for him and if you were running I’d doodle all over your name.
