Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Looks like he's happy to get another shot and his agent seems to think the Skins structured his contract with an eye towards 2011. Kemoeatu excited about being a Redskin | National Football Post

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Apparently his deal is full of incentives and bonuses, so there's not much guaranteed money. Smart deal by the Skins. Word is he won't be ready to go until training camp.

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Just to be inquisitive...... has anyone else sufford a similar injury as an NFL player and done well after sergury?
If so great. I hope the best for him especially since he's a Redskin now. I'm sitting here imagining the combinations..... Daniels, Kemo, AH Orakpo, Kemo/AH, Carter Orakpo, Daniels, Kemo, AH, Carter Fun, fun.

The only thing that I am worried about with this deal is why isn't he running by now? Either way, I am confident that James Andrews can fix whatever the problem is. |

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Apparently the wound wasn't healing right which required the 2nd procedure. So at least it wasn't a problem with the tendon itself.

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
Since I didn't know much about Achilles injuries, I looked it up. Seems like a pretty nasty injury based on this report. However, surgery gets better all the time.... I trust our new front office, and his contract is all incentive laden. Still a great signing.

Jansen and Buzbee returned from it. Buzbee insn't in the NFL but he is playing in the CFL.

Re: Maake Kemoeatu DT signs 2yr $7million deal
I loved "studies" like this. What they fail to distinguish is that 2/3 of the league are one serious injury away from being out of the league anyways. They are holding on by their teeth to stay in the league when healthy. Once a big injury hits, even if they recover, they never get a second chance. I'd bet it's more like 2/3 of the starting players who suffer the injury make it back into the NFL. Maybe even more.

I love this move. Low risk...high reward. if they waited until he was healthy and ready to go then there are a bunch of teams bidding on him.
