WE can wait for a potential franchise QB I think, or even wait a year or two to see how Mallet develops at Arkansas.
See that's thing, we can "get by" with Campbell. But I don't think we can survive another year of mediocre, up and down, play on the offensive line regardless of who's playing QB. Another thing, with the tandem of a healthy Clinton Portis and Larry Johnson, you want to max out up front not knowing how much longer either will be with the Redskins. You have to give them the best opportunity to succeed.

Re: We should stay away from Bradford

I was against getting Bradford on the account of his being on a powerful team that to me, with the exception of a couple of games, played clearly inferior opponents most of the year in a conference not known for defense. THat being said, one thing other than arm strength that I want in a franchise guy for the SKins is a guy with a brain. Bradford scored a 36 on his Wonderlic test. Clausen only scored 23, and Tebow a 22. I would like to see what Stull and Kafka scored on theirs as both of their schools(Pitt and Northwestern) usually have some of the highest academic standards for athletes around.

For what it's worth, I think Dan Marino scored something like 15 on his Wonderlic. Just saying.

I doubt that. That is very low. He probably blew it off like Clausen and co. Shoot didn't JC get like 17. I think some of these guys just screw around with it.

I found it noteworthy in one of your earlier posts you refered to Bradford as a potential FQB...potential...being the key word. I mention it because many times the term FQB is thrown around too losely when it pertains to collegiate QB's. FQB means accomplished, without accomplishment on the NFL level the title does not properly apply notwithstanding success on a lesser level.

No, but I'd be tempted to trade down and take him. I was just responding to all the Wonderlic scores. Spiller got a 10. Jahvid Best got a 24.

Wonderlics and leadership are overrated.

JC got a 14 first time around. Then he took it again and got a 28. He gets better the more he does stuff

His first Wonderlic test score (14) was lower than you like from a player at the quarterback position, but he then scored a much-improved 28 at the Combine in February. ... Needs to work on some fundamentals, especially his feet in his pass set, but he has the quickness to get back from center. ... Made more sound decisions in 2004 than he did in the past, but he still must improve in reading coverages.

Yeah, but I have to play devil's advocate and respond with this:

If JC gets better the more he does things then why the hell does it take so long to read the defense? We are all still waiting to see this in his game.
