Bears have given up 27 sacks! I can see 98 and CO. getting to Cutler and forcing a couple INTs this game. That being said, Peppers is a monster and TW will have another hard task sunday. I think Torain has another solid game but this will be won with McNabb's arm.

It has been a long LONG time since i've felt this confident AFTER a tough loss .. shows you what this new regime has done to change up the atmosphere in such a positive way .. i think this teams knows that they let one slip away (twice) and they are hungry to get back on track .. i think this game sets up nicely for them to finally blow the doors off of someone ..

Why do we expect the Bears to just lay down and roll over? Have you guys seen Matt Forte run lately? And as up and down as Cutler can be, when he's hot he's one of the best in the league. Oh, and then there's that guy named Devin Hester who can take it to the house in a John Madden minute.
I think we need to chill a bit and be happy to escape Chicago with a W. |

I think the key for us will be sustaining drives more than causing turnovers and sacks (which I suspect we will do). But if we cannot do anything once we get the ball, we leave ourselves open to Forte trying to grind us down and keep our D on the field for a long time. To sustain drives, we need to get something going on the ground to set up the pass (esp. play action), and that will reuqire Torain to play with more discipline than last week. Against the Colts, he was solid, but tried too often to bounce outside the tackles and go for longer yardage, usually to the opposite effect. Had he stayed with his blockers, he likely would have been more effective. If he does that, I think we can keep the chains moving on offense.
An early lead will be key. We need to get out in front and force the Bears to throw. If we do, we could have a great day. If they do, they can pressure McNabb and try to grind us down with Forte, which has to me their strategy. While no one should take the Bears lightly, we should win this game and I think we will. It would be nice to having a convincing win for a change, but I will take an ugly one at this point. I predict 22-16 Skins (we get a safety). |

We are not there yet and so there is always room for improvement. Chicago is 4-2, has a stellar defense, and they also happen to have beaten the Packers. Can the Redskins win? Absolutely, I think we've proven that we can hang around with a lot of teams in the league. We have 3 wins in 6 games, 1 less than we had in 16 games last season. But we have to improve our overall defense, the offensive line still has to gel, we are still looking to establish a consistent running game and we have yet to develop a very thin WR corp, arguably one of the worst in the league. So, while not pathetic, we have a ways to go before we are where we could be.

But, the Redskins had every opportunity and was very, very close in doing just that....AND...having to come back to do so! Something that Cris Collinsworth said usually doesn't happen against the Colts. I say, as long as each player plays hard for 60 minutes, they're going to win more than they lose.
