Just goes to show that way too many people believe that when an Arab comes over here to kill Americans it's called terrorism -- But when the U.S. Gov't does the same thing over there it's called counter-terrorism.

Hopefully some day we'll learn...
I disagree with that. We are not terrorists. But i will say you don’t hear of many terrorist attacks in Canada or Australia….. maybe its because they don’t have a occupational presence felt around the world? We are so isolated geographically and could have things so good with regards to peace. Maybe we shouldn’t try and police the world Team America style?

Ron Paul says Fox News distorted his comments about bin Laden | Texas on the Potomac | a Chron.com blog

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul accused Fox News of distorting his comments about the U.S. military raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, the Lake Jackson congressman rebuked Chris Wallace when the Fox host claimed that Paul had told an Iowa radio station earlier in the week that it was “wrong” for the U.S. to kill the al Qaeda leader.
Rep. Ron Paul speaks during a news conference at his newly opened Iowa campaign office on Tuesday.
“You distorted that,” Paul argued, by using the word “wrong.”
During the broadcast this morning, Fox aired a clip from the interview in which Paul declared “it was not absolutely necessary” to kill bin Laden.
“That’s different than saying it was wrong,” Paul told Wallace. “I’m saying there was a different way of doing that.”

Re: Ron Paul to Run for President

From your link it doesnt sound like he actually said "I wouldnt have killed bin Laden", but i agree thats inferred from what he did say:

"I think things would be done somewhat differently," Paul said, of how he would have handled the situation, citing "respect for the rule of law and world law and international law."

Paul says that instead of sneaking into Pakistan and killing bin Laden, he would have cooperated with the Pakistani government and put the al Qaeda leader on trial - a strategy, he argues, that has worked for the United States in the past.

"I would suggest ...the way they got Khalid [Sheikh] Mohammed," Paul told Conway. "We went and cooperated with Pakistan. They arrested him, actually, and turned him over to us, and he's been in prison."

"What's wrong with that?" Paul asked. "Why can't we work with the government?"

Re: Ron Paul to Run for President

If you're keeping score, they have him at 135 promises kept, 42 promises broken, 40 promises compromised.

For instance, click on the link of Obama's promise to create a $10 billion foreclosure fund or the one where he promises to double the size of Peace Corps. Politifact gives a convoluted and drawn out explanation as to why they categorize these as a "broken" promise. None of them are cut and dry as advertised. Some of them fall more into the category of compromise.

Still, I like Politifact and how they hold our officials, including the president, accountable.

Iraq, Gitmo, having terrorist trials here in the states (that one he tried but realized it was a bad idea). Actually flip flop is the fun name to use when a politician flips on an issue but I 'll have to say I think Obama change his opinion on some issues after getting briefed and seeing the dangers we face. He has actually made some moves I was surprised with

I think they're still going to close Gitmo, it was just much, much harder than they anticipated. He'll get it done though. Iraq, I believe he's on schedule drawing down that occupation, no?

Yeah, bin Laden was hiding is a large, easily visible compound for a long ass time near one of their military academies and they never bothered to tell us. Paul's commitment to deotonlogy is both admirable yet foolish.

I thought the same thing. I really don't know what to make of this anymore or what he actually stands for. One minute he's for invading Libya, then he flips. Then he's for the individual mandate, but on the other hand he wants to repeal Obamacare? Very bizzare.

Pretty funny.

I too dont know what to think of Newt, hes a odd ball. Even how he and his wife just continued to sign books like oh well sometimes you get glittered was wierd. Watching him on Fox as a pundit i used to wonder if he knew what the conversation was about. He kind of has old man ramblings syndrome.

May not agree with his views true. But he does sound like a normal guy to me as well. As who knows what 2012 will take us?!

To be honest, I feel sorry for the guy. I mean he is normal to me too, which makes it tough to watch such an epic fail. He is so normal, I really dont see a great leader. I worry about his health. Poor guy. The last time he lead in the House, he was forced to embarrassly resign by pressure within his own party. Bill Clinton just whipped his a$$. I mean anyone remember the monica and clinton ordeal? Who woulda thought Newt was doing the samething at the sametime. Newt save yourself and get out now.

Google Newt Gingrich...the second autocomplete is Newt Gingrich Glitter...thats just damn embarrassing and freakin hilarious
