And I think every team wants to give their QB more weapons. But, I think this draft sets up quite nicely to improve the weakest unit on the team. And on the whole I think there is much easier and nets a greater impact from improve upon a poor unit then trying to improve an already elite unit like the offense.
I'm not really saying otherwise

They know they have no true slot receiver outside of the 34-year-old Santana Moss
Evan Royster is the current back-up to Morris and he's gone from likely starter to a foot and a half out the door in less than a year

And I think they're not being totally truthful about Helu's status

I mean maybe they'll go DB in the 2nd and WR/RB in the 3rd, but I don't think they're going to go defense/defense off the top
Thank God. I never thought he was anything special. Not a fast, cutting back (Helu) or a bruiser (Morris) so what did that leave him as? I dunno what you all (or the coaches) think his ceiling is, but he seemed pretty average.

I have been thinking that too, I was thinking Steadman Bailey or Da'Rick Rodgers in the 3rd round. If they think Marcus Lattimore can return from that injury he could be had in the 5th as well.

Receiver would make sense and I wouldnt be against it. Look at the contract situation after next year. There's really good talent/value in the 2nd/3rd rounds at WR this year. Woods, DeAndre Hopskins, Terrance Williams, Steadman Baily, Swope...and I think the most intriguing is Markus Wheaton.

I wonder if adding Williams would be something III would lobby for?

Swope, man I like that kid.

Swope is solid, but do you use your 2nd on an exclusive slot reciever? He wouldnt make a noise outside.

Can never have too many weapons. We do need another honestly but I'd rather get that defense first

I'd keep an eye on Andre Ellington and Josh Boyce

Andre Ellington was a monster last year at Clemson. I would love to see him in the Burgundy and Gold. Reading his scout profile says Shanny-type back all over him:

Possesses above-average straight-line speed. Attacks the line of scrimmage in one-back formations. Good vision and foot quickness for the cutback, has a burst through the hole and can accelerate away from oncoming defenders. Tough for college safeties to get an angle on. Excellent balance in the open field to cut, put his hand on the ground to stay upright, or even leap sprawling defenders. Runs with some lean for his size, and he lowers his pads pre-contact to get an extra yard. Takes big hits and bounces back up. Tight-ropes the sideline when necessary to maximize runs. Shows the ability to create behind the line of scrimmage when the play side breaks down, and the creativity and knowledge of pursuit angles to set up second level defenders. Shows patience running behind pulling guards and fullbacks, can cut in either direction off the block. Stiff-arm in the open field can be effective in keeping away defensive backs. Very dangerous in space. Good hands to be a threat as a receiver in the flat, over the middle, on screens, and down the sideline on wheel routes. Dangerous kick returner who can slide through creases and explode into the open with quick cuts and pure acceleration.

Ellington is a speedster; the kind of back we need.

Boyce is a Hakeem Nicks type of physical WR. He and RG3 were teammates in high school.

Boyce is someone we can get in the 4-5th round range.
