Has there ever been a time when giving the HC control of personnel actually worked? I am struggling to think of a case

Bill Belichick.

Starting to suspect he hit the lotto with a 6th round qb and that covered up many of his weaknesses though.

I would argue Andy Reid has final decision making on his roster too but his track record is proven.

BB was responsible for several great defenses and possibly the best defensive coach of all time. I hate that I have to constantly defend him because I think he is a dick. But once again him and Brady needed each other.

Credit where it's due - they wouldn't have won all those titles without good defense. He always had adequate defenses when it mattered most. Several HOFers on those D's too - as well as on the Giants d that won 2 titles.

The last 2-3 post-Brady years have made him look bad as roster assembler though.

I used to think that Belichick was a genius. Then I realized that most likely it was all having Tom Brady. Belichick only had one winning season in Cleveland as HC there. He has been borderline trash since losing Brady.

A fun question is who is a worse HC at this point in their career? Belichick or Ron?

I do think Andy Reid is another shining example of a HC being able to be his own GM. Belichick needed a proven superstar GOAT QB to win. Andy Reid had loads of success with many different QB's - McNabb, Jeff Garcia, and Michael Vick, as well as Alex Smith in KC, and of course Mahomes.

Honestly, if there aren’t changes this week, I’m done. Like forever done. After being a fan for 50 years. I know the stench of Snyder runs deep, but how can you have so little fight. Pathetic. This somehow feels worse than the Chicago loss.

You cannot be done before Harris has a chance to put his stamp on things. After all this time we are so close to being free from Snyders garbage. It would be a terrible time to walk away.

I’ve said this for a few years now. I’m a fan of this team and always will be but I’m not a diehard fan anymore. Losses don’t matter to me. In fact I laugh at most of the games we play. The only real connection I have to this franchise is on this site. If Matty said the page is retiring I’d probably not even root for them anymore. You fuckers keep me in this shit hole lol

You’ve only ever known Snyder. Don’t give up now.

I gave up. It's just funny now. I hate so much that I have an emotional connection to this piss soaked cesspool of a team. I'm a fan but not a diehard anymore either. It just isnt worth it.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

I can say I'm not emotionally vested in this team this year. Haven't watch the past three weeks b/c I know this is a lame duck season for Ron and crew. I'm happy for the future and glad we got some good picks off of players we were never keeping.

I only watch to laugh. Losing used to ruin my day up until about 4 years ago. Then I realized as fans we can’t do shit about it. Why get mad?

This is a HUGE offseason for Harris and co. If they don’t get the right coach here and GM they will lose almost every fan that’s left.

Jumping ship now, after almost 25 years of torture, months before an owner not named Dan Snyder is about to try and fix things seems strange.
