Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
It's very classy of Dan to meet with Shanahan. A simple text or email to pack up is deserved. I don't think there's any reasonable criticism of Snyder, he's handled this situation as well as anyone could and shown any potential HC this is a quality ownership.

Todd Bowles has really impressed me as a DC and should be considered as a HC, love his D in Arizona.

Csn said that Russ Grimm and Danny smith were interested in interviewing. Special teams coach to head coach has worked before. That'd be interesting. Grimm would be good as well

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I hated Danny Smith while he was here, I though out special teams was mediocre with him.
After 16 games with Burns as our special teams coach, I am ready for Danny Smith to be head coach. |

Danny smith wouldn't be the best solution there

My vote would be for Jay Gruden. He has been impressive in Cincy and he doesn't even have a good quarterback there.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Quote:
To say this is a 3-4 year rebuild is a gross over-reaction to this God forsaken season. The same roster won the division just last year. Unless RG3 is a total bust, the Skins ARE NOT "years away" from playoff contention. Only teams with no answer at the QB position are rebuilding. Even the best teams in the league only have 4-8 pro-bowlers. The roster, as currently constructed, has several pro bowl caliber players and with their full salary cap to work with next year, 5-8 new starters is not inconceivable. Yes, a first round pick would be nice, but having a top 15 pick for the last 10 plus years didn't amount to anything. Having 1 QB playing at a borderline elite level amounted to a 10-6 record, a division title and a 14-0 lead in a playoff game against one of the best teams in the league. They can easily be right back in the mix next year. Happens every year.

looks like O'Brien is the hot coach everyone wants right now, will the skins join the sweepstakes?
