I think it's bad for someone like Cousins getting a fair shake, but it's going to make every other offensive player on the roster better.

How? By spacing the field as wide as possible? Sure it works in a conference where no one plays defense and the hash marks are wide.

Plus what does that hire say to the rest of your team? I'm catering to one guy. Even Snyder wouldn't do that.

Given that Fletcher advocated for Shanahan's extension today, I'm going to say that players aren't as sensitive as we (myself included) make them out to be.

Give me that guy over an Alex Smith anyday. We clearly had a real pass offense for the first time all year....w/out Hank and Reed. For only two starts under his belt, and a guy who hadn't started all year, that was pretty impressive stuff on Sun.

Agree!!

I think Briles would be a bad idea too. Too much baggage would come with that hire.

If they hired Art Briles and didn't win, the push-back would be vicious.

Kind of like the Chip Kelly hire in Philly.

Right, the initial perception of RG "getting his way" would be tough to overcome unless the wins pile up quick. Do they really want all that extra heat?

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

For what it's worth, Wilson was on the kornheiser show and thinks cousins should be the starter because he's a legit nfl starter (Wilbon watched him a lot in college) and griffins been playing horrible. He said cousins is way too good to be holding a clip board and said griffin hasn't done anything yet to prove he's anything. He says the redskins put themselves in this position by drafting two starters and one of them has to go.

I agree one of them had to go. It's time. I just don't see eehy everyone thinks it's cousins that has to go. What rg3 has done to make so many of you think he has earned the right to be the unquestioned starter for eternity is beyond me.

Well he broke the record for a rookie passer rating, rookie of the year and led the redskins to a division title and has made the team relevant again, but I guess that isn't much

Yes, because you know fair weather fans quickly forget that once a team starts to lose. Its a F-ing joke what some of the "fans" spew and so called sports reporters.

Re: Kirk Cousins Expected To Start Sunday

After trading away so much to draft RG3, it would be the height of stupidity to give up on him. He's a young player and he's going to struggle; in addition, the offensive line is terrible, the receiving corps could use some help, and he missed the second offseason. Before giving up on our starting quarterback, let's wait and see what time and more talent surrounding him will do. (How many times has something along this tune been posted anyway? Has to be close to a thousand times on this site alone.)

And by the way, Mike Shanahan has said there will be no quarterback competition in the offseason; if he's around, that is.
