He's safe mainly because Snyder won't want to eat the last three years of the deal.

Just like Cousins, I'm not ready to call it yet with Gruden. I'm not satisfied with him at this point but there are still six more games.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

I don't think Gruden and Barry are incompetent. I just think they are both conservative, perhaps even unimaginative, play callers.

I often wonder what our current offense and defense would look like with better players. If Scot is who we think he is and he improves player personnel significantly over the next two years, perhaps we could run the same plays and be much more successful with them.

I realize that stability means nothing if we have the wrong coaches and executives in place. OTOH, I think stability is very important if we have the right people in place. So, I'd like to see Gruden and Barry get the chance to work with better players.

But if we don't win a road game soon, I might change my mind.

Conservative and unimaginative...doesn't exactly win championships does it?

Gruden is good at making excuses though: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ning-the-ball/

pathetic...

Just to clear the air.

Chico doest like Gruden or Cousins.

That's if you didn't catch on to his constant attacks of the two.

Ok, carry on.

Yeah, the excuse making is not a good look.

I really don't want to see another coaching change right now, but that's up to Gruden and Barry. They may want to play other teams straight up but they obviously don't have the horses to do it. If they don't come up with something right now to improve our run game and stop the opponent's run game, they may both be fired before Scot is able to acquire the horses.

Last week Barry had the corners playing 10 yards off the wr's on a 3rd and 3 when Carolina was backed up in their own side of the field. I wanted to bitch slap him. He is way too conservative and after 10 weeks I really don't think he's anything special. That hire is on Gruden.

Also I wonder if we have more than two run plays. We might lead the league in 2nd and 12, and I can almost predict when we're going to run and pass.

Starting over may not be the best thing right now. But these guys and KC need to start taking more chances on both sides of the ball. We'll need to if we want to beat the Giants. If KC throws a pick or two then so be it, that's part of playing QB.

That may be true but I surely wouldn't want to be reading all of the opinions about that afterwards on this message board.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

I tend to be more harsh on the head coach because there is more you need than X's & O's to be a head coach. I don't think Gruden has done very well utilizing the teams talent and/or modifying the approach to work with what he has any given week.

Also, I would say it is premature to take any reports seriously since this is a 4-6 team right now who's season still could go either way. We could pull off 2 division wins and be 6-6 with a month of football left, but we could just as well be 4-8 after the next two weeks and another season in the crapper.

If this team goes out and loses the next few games and the floor just falls out from under them completely I would not be confident that Gruden is back next year.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Three of the last four games are good? His first real season at the helm and I see progression halted by one of the best defenses in the league. Also what this article fails to mention is he has done all of this with a piss poor defense and zero run game. For a "rookie" which we can argue about all we want, he is playing quite well all things considered. Certainly worthy of another year where we give him some more help imo.

Last time I checked you do not get a whole lot of experience sitting. So in that way all three were rookies. Yes. Also both of them jumped into a pretty good situation. Not like Kirk.
Edit: its a team fucking sport and you must realize comparing those packer teams and this denver team to what we have is the only reason u should be syfh.

Osweiler has started one game against a bad defense and they were able to run the ball. He will have his struggles. Let's see who he plays against the Pats.
