Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
Also, Kirk became waaaaay too predictable with his fake hard count. It was almost done in the same rhythm every single time, and you could see Sean Lee starting to time it every snap. This kind of stuff should be recognized and changed through the course of the game.
I didn't hear Greg Hardy's name called too much in the game, Trent Williams did a pretty good job blocking that side. Blocking Hardy mostly one on one is so small feat but Silverback was getting it done. |

Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
I get the hate on the offense. The performance wasn't good at all but let's be honest with ourselves. This is a team that won 7 games the previous two years. A lot of factors went into that but the main issue on this team has been the level of talent. SM has done an admirable job in just one year of finding players who can contribute (especially on defense) but the talent on the offensive side of the ball last night wasn't there.
We have the makings of a good OL in the future but neither Long nor Leribeus are gonna part of that. Both aren't good. Scherff is good but still learning. He seemed to learn fast last night which is good. We literally had one tight end active last night. One. And he is the one who can't block. We had to play converted Tackles if we wanted to go with a two tight-end set. Chop that part of the play book out. KC is not a guy right now who can extend plays and make magic happen. Give him the keys to a good car and he can drive it. Give himt eh keys to a crippled car with dead weight on the interior line, no TEs, and an under performing running game and we're doomed. The scheming sucked according to many...I don't see how we can scheme much better given the constraints last night. I'm no Gruden apologist but being more aggressive last night probably gets us killed. As DJax would say "You can't do epic stuff with basic people" |

Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
It is a TEAM sport Raves and gentlemen. How anybody can be talking about anything other than D-Jax is beyond me. Lets just look at what happened again shall we? It was a division game against the Cowboys whose backs were to the wall big time. They came to play. It was an ugly penalty filled game but with about 2 and a half minutes left in said game our D came up big and they punted to us. If D-dick just takes the straight path we are roughly 25 measly freaking yards from attempting a game winning fg. But that asshole RUNS BACKWARDS FOR 23 YARDS AND FUMBLES ON THEIR 7 YARD LINE!!!!!! Eff everything else that happened in that game. It was ours to win UNTIL D-DICK PUT ON HIS D-DICK CAPE AND RUINED IT! That is all.

Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
3 points off turnovers, a missed FG, and letting them get that kick return. That was the ball game.
The yearly allowing of big returns in crucial times is infuriating. Hopkins literally has to kick a touchback every time because our coverage unit will eff it up and they did again. The next day and I'm still just as pissed. Get a good win last week then completely ruin it this week. Yep, sounds like Redskins football. Nothing worse than losing to Cowboys at home on primetime. With no Romo. Doesn't get worse than that.

And how "Redskins" of Hopkins, who has been a sure-shot from 50 or less the entire season to not only miss a FG attempt, but then after the Jackson TD to tie the game, can't kick the ball out of the endzone which he normally does without effort.

What about A gap middle linebacker blitz with the stunt coming from the DE...why didn't we make adjustments, why didn't Gruden/McVay go up to Kirk and say "Hey, if you see this, you gotta make the adjustment at the line" It doesn't look like we did. Maranelli really outcoached Jay...I look at the Jets game and the first Giants game where the defense really outcoached the o staff. |

Even though we don't all agree, I love having this site. I need somewhere to vent. And celebrate. But we typically have a lot more to vent about than celebrate. Being a Skins fan would be worse without here.

I think we're at the bottom of the league in points scored off turnovers. If the defense gives you three turnovers, two of them in opponent territory, and all you have to show for is 3 points, you're going to lose the game, period.

Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
Safe to say we will be drafting a tight end this year, possibly 2. We need a tight end that can block and catch at least some passes. Hopefully Niles also comes back full strength.

F$ck Dallas! Game thread

There is winning and their is losing. Who cares about coming close to losing a game? That is called winning. We were in a great position to win at the end and had D-Dick not effed up and we kick a fg there and win - nobody is talking about anything other than a division title and how we have learned how to win big games. We are not a team full of talent. You want "pretty" wins you have to wait until next year. This team was supposed to win 6 games. We could have done it last night. Obviously there are a ton of would of could of should of's that might have changed things last night. But none of them were nearly as asinine or easily avoidable as what djax did. Not even close. |

We were not in a great position to win. I'm not asking for a pretty win, but I'd like to see our coaching staff do a better job at responding to schemes done by the opposing defense. The way that the game was going, there was little that told me that the offense could have made something with that drive. DJax made a ridiculously boneheaded play. He also scored a TD to tie the game. But at the end of the day, all that SHIT is a little too late because the offense couldn't do squat for 99 percent of the game. I know we are devoid of talent in certain areas. But I don't think the team looked this helpless when playing against the Pats or Carolina. I have a huge issue with the coaching staff not being able to prepare/motivate players for an important game (see first Giants game) or not being able to react and adjust. We lost to Matt Fucking Cassell because the offense couldn't muster points early in the game and the team put themselves into a situations at the end of the game that left little room for error. Bitch all you want about DJax, but if the same stupid mistakes keep happening and we're going to continue to lose winnable games.

I said plenty of things could have changed last night. But please do not compare a kicker missing a fg to a player taking his team 23 yards in the wrong direction and than coughing up the ball with 2-1/2 minutes left to a missed kick? Yeah djax tied it up but we never should have had to tie it up. We were in a great position to win. We had the ball with 2-1/2 minutes left and should have had decent field position. In a tie game. We should have needed roughly 25-30 yards to kick a fg and could have used up time while they used up timeouts. How is that not being in a great position to win? |

Re: F$ck Dallas! Game thread
If you told me nothing else about the game other than the defense caused 3 turnovers, 2 of which happened inside the Dallas 40, I would have been comfortable assuming we won by at least 10 points.
I feel I should temper my criticism of the offense because of how injury-ravaged the O-line is and how the TE position is depleted, however there's still a lot of little things/nuances that seem like they could be modified despite the injury situation yet they aren't and we see the same thing every game in those cases. The defense, after a rough patch earlier in the year has kind of come on like they did for that final stretch in 2012. I am actually quite impressed in how Scot McCloughan has found these guys and how much impact they are making. Dunbar was a frickin' WR not too long ago and the guy has barely been on our roster yet is out there holding his own for most of the game. If you saw that matchup on paper you'd assume Terrence Williams would have a career game. |
