RT @Ezeaman: The Redskins should draft RG3. ... Don't think he'll make it to No. 6. Likely would have to trade up to get him.

I am extremely leery to mortgage the teams future on a QB that IS A SURE FIRE BACK UP DAY 1. He is a true spread QB coming out of college and will not have success day 1 because he NEEDS the time and practice to become a professional, and learn the position and playbook he will be expected to play. Will he become a great QB? Maybe, he certainly displays great athletic skills, and by all accounts is an intelligent and hard working young man, but that doesn't mean he is going to come in and light it up day one. History says that it is more likely to come in and fall flat on his face than the opposite.

Unless of course our coaching staff tries to work in the spread offense like The Panther and Bronco's did. But otherwise your concerns are mine 100%. Fans wanting RG3 just because he's supposed to be ranked #2 but the Combine has not even come yet.

Funny how the #2 ranked QB decides to stay in college and everyone panicks about having to take the next best thing. Guess what RG3 will be gone, Skins won't reach for him and the next best thing is Tannehill. Yes I said it the next best thing is Tannehill so go ahead fans and start talking about how we gotta get him and how you'll turn in your fan cards if we don't get him and how MS needs to get him or the Skins are doomed.

I know Holmgren isn't great with secrecy, but I want to point out that the overwhelming likelihood of the Browns <3 RGIII rumors are coming from outside the Browns organization. That's not to say that the Browns don't like RGIII, but the people who think the Browns might actually give up two first rounders to move up are probably not employees of the Browns.

For someone who is saying MS needs to get it right and take the right QB because this coming year might cost him his job after year 3 in a 5 year contract, I'm supprised you would settle for an unknown commodity.

I think people get too riled up about who "THEY" want or would like to see the Skins get that they forget that there are other choices. What if MS and KS don't believe RG3 is their style of QB?

Also, same thing goes for "the Redskins will trade up for RGIII" rumors.

So you can maybe take a guess where all these rumors are coming from? If not the Browns or Redskins, then...

I just think guys like Griffin are far and few between with his accuracy, athletic ability, and most important his mindset. we need him.
Funny the same thing was said about Locker last year. Also the opposite was said about Dalton. I really wish we had taken Dalton just to quiet down the panicked "we have to get a Rookie QB" because no one else can get the job done. Franchise QBs are developed and work well over years of service, what you want is a flash in the pan.... Another Mile Vick, how many SB's did he win? I'd rather have someone who can be developed and take this team into the play offs for many years because he is the right QB for our system vs having a highlight reel.

Your right but lets not forget Miami and the Browns have commented on the fact that RG3 is worh taking because he fits into any system... According to the Browns HC. Which is why the Browns HC was supposed to get reprimanded for commenting on a college player who had not declared yet.

Trust me I'm sure their interested especially since their drafted QB didn't play lights out. Miami's interested too. I'd be supprised if the Rams and Vikes are not somewhat interested and looking at possibly taking him.

RG3 had better overall production and accomplishments than Vick had coming out. RG3 has a more stable upbringing than Vick. RG3 is more intelligent than Vick. Why would these facts make one think RG3's career would be similiar?

I just don't see what all the fuss is with having to pay a premium for the right to draft RGIII. Is the extra cornerback, receiver, or linebacker worth not getting a franchise QB? An elite prospect that can make the team contenders year in and year out.

Let me tell you something, the rest of the NFC East is praying we don't get this guy. They don't want to face him as a rookie and they sure as hell don't want to face him when he starts to come into his own around year 3. I see this guy as a top 5 QB when he develops and certainly he'll end up being the best QB in the East. You just don't pass up an opportunity to take the guy that can turn around your team because you want to be frugal.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

I'm with Dirtbag here. I've always been a fan of acquiring picks by trading back in the draft. One player does not make any team a contender......That was until I watched the Colts, a perennial powerhouse, fall to the number 1 pick. I'm not saying RGIII is Peyton Manning, but one guy can make a difference.

Ditto to the above posts. It is worth a high price to have a dynamic franchise QB.
