The only thing I can keep thinking is Zimmer's contract is up this year. Ryan is only in his first year of his contract or second. I think it might be a little harder to pick him up. We could call him DC/Asst. HC I guess.

someone asked why switch to a 3-4, it was rumored that Shanahan and his former DC where investigating that type of defense. Although Ryan is in year one of his contract, he may be fired along with mangini by holmgren to bring people that fit his mold

No, I know Shanahan is interested in the 3-4. He even went to the Steeler's and Patriots camp prior to this season back in Aug. in order to see how good 3-4 defenses are run.

I thought he was wondering why Zimmer himself. I presume cause he is one of the easiest to get since his contract is up and Cinci has not offered up a better dollar amount.

I'd think that Zimmer would probably prefer to run the 4-3 which he did except for when Parcells had him go 3-4 in Dallas.

speaking of zimmer, profootballweekly just ranked him the 2nd best DC in the league. he would be a great addition here.

This only Zimmer's first year as the DC in Cincy, so whatever they've been in the past has nothing to do with him

Also, we might be adding Rick Dennison as OL coach, Bobby Turner as RB coach, and Jeff Goodman as Director of Pro Personnel, while Brown gets bumped up to Director of Player Personnel and Scott Campbell is shown the door. All very speculative at this point

I would be pretty happy if that happens. Zimmer is an ex-cowboy so I kinda don't want bring him onboard.

I think it's kind of funny that a good amount of our potential head coaches look the same . Two of them for obvious reasons.

Mike Shannahan has been my pick since last year, I know we have a great season ahead, just remember and I am laying this out front, No matter what shanny do, if someone blast him, I will be blasting you, because for once, even including Joe Gibbs, we have a coach with a 2K style.....

Who? Who? And who? And what's the director of player personel do? I thought you had a pro guy and a college guy and they both reported to the gm... Does the player guy oversee the pro guy and the college guy? So who would our college guy be? And what's wrong with Scott Campbell?

Dennison-current OL coach in Denver, was OC in Shanahan's last year. Before that I forget what he'd been doing

Turner-Been the RB coach in Denver I think for almost a decade

Jeff Goodman-Was the Assistant GM in Denver after a couple of years as Southeast Scout I believe. Young up and comer

Titles could change or be different. But the Player Guy generally focuses more on college, particularly the draft process. Sometimes they can be called Director of College Scouting for example.

Nothing wrong with Scott Campbell. It's becoming evident though that he's a good lieutenant but maybe not much more.

Still...all very speculative

Why switch to a 3-4? We dont have enough draft picks as it is to address all our holes. Switching to a 3-4 this offseason would be a terrible idea.

Uncapped season. Are there any available in FA. I find it funny how everyone immediatly thinks about draft picks.

For what it's worth Wilbon said Shannahan will be the head coach of the Redskins by the time PTI goes off the air.

b mitch says the skins are not gonna introduce shanny as head coach until after coach buges retires(which is supposed to be tomarrow). the skins would rather buges retire rather than it looking like he was fired by shanny.
