Future Hall of Famers, right?

Also... how about these All-Pros selected in the top 10 of the 1st round from 2008 & 2009?:
'09 - Tyson Jackson - 1,3 - KC
'09 - Aaron Curry - 1,4 - Seattle (since traded due to lack of productivity)
'08 - Vernon Gholston - 1,6 - NYJ
'08 - Derrick Harvey - 1,8 - Jax (they released him in 2011)

.... Point is... why does everyone have to talk about the 3 picks we gave up as automatic All-Pro Hall of Fame talent??

Is there a good chance we gave up 3 NFL regulars?? Maybe... But sheesh. How come it seems like everyone forgets that 1st & 2nd round picks are not "locks"... until they are talking about RGIII himself? It irritates me... just saying.
I personally find it amusing. On draft day: MAN WHAT A PICK, this guy is going to be a BEAST!

Contract expires, guy kind of wants to go somewhere else; "Good riddance. We didn't need him anyway."

How about if he's playing at a high level but the levels of talent around him are substandard because of the 3 top level players they are giving up over the next 3 years?

-Browns didn't meet the demands for the pick.. If they go with McCoy or even Tannehill or Weeden in the late 1st and are back in the top 10 looking for a QB sometime in the next 4 years will they be ridiculed for not going strong enough?
-Rams got all the picks they wanted.. Don't they need to be a Super Bowl competitor in 2015 or so in order to call the trade a success for them? If they miss on even 2 of their upcoming 5 1st round picks over the next three years, those picks can impact the salary cap and the tendency to hold onto first rounders hoping they develop and miss out on suitable replacements.

Who's got the most pressure to perform? Redskins, Browns or Rams.
I think the Redskins have the most pressure to perform, but I don't know if the Browns or Rams would be under more criticism if they failed. I think it's a good question. I suppose with the Rams, we could look at the Broncos with the Cutler trade and suggest that no one thinks Pat Bowlen is a bad owner or even that Brian Xanders is a bad GM because they blew those draft picks frivolously. The hammer pretty much fell on McDaniels, and to a lesser extent Kyle Orton.

The Browns probably deserve some criticism for where they are under Holmgren, but not for this. They made the percentage play. They won't be remembered as the team who didn't give up picks for Griffin any more than the Seahawks or Dolphins will. They will be lauded for their patience.

Their decision is whether to draft Ryan Tannehill and hope he saves their careers, or whether to draft Justin Blackmon and hope McCoy takes a big step forward. This is a very important offseason for the Browns, obviously, same as the Redskins. But Shurmur is in year two there, and probably isn't in a win-or-else scenario, though if his offense finds a way to get worse, he's probably gone.

It is really subjective, at least the way I phrased it. I think you could probably put it more objectively, given more thought.

The Redskins absolutely made the right move for the second pick.
RGIII is a player that Mike and Kyle can grow and coach from the start. This is a move Mike made for his son to have a future here. We all know Peyton Manning is not the future here. It takes balls to be good in this league, and we made the move needed to be successfull.

I agree, some say "well what if he's a bust?" Well we never would know until u try , whats the worst that can happen? The skins suck for another 4-5 years, shit we're used to that anyway. I didn't like all the picks but I LOVE getting RGIII so it's worth it

I'm glad we got him too. But just be prepared for some growing pains and possibly another 5-11 season.... and the rams getting a top ten pick from us.

I think its a good thing we went for RG3. I heard the Colt McCoy trade was getting too expensive for the redskins.

Your secret is out, Shah Rukh Khan! aka iamsrk. Also, kudos for sticking with the McCoy story all the way until the end.
