I think there's real reason to be concerned how we'll fill out our roster just to a place where we can be better than last year. There is a severe shortage of DL talent in FA and we all know it's unlikely the FO drafts a stud NT early. In fact even if we drafted Suh no telling how quickly he'd adjust to NT position.
Uhhh. Neither Suh nor McCoy will be playing NT in the NFL.

Re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread

It feels really weird to be sitting here almost 24 hours into free agency and the Skins haven't signed anybody whatsoever. I'm not used to this, normally I'm getting mildly excited thinking about whatever hot name we picked up by now. This is gonna take some getting used to, especially hearing the phrase, "the Skins aren't overpaying for so and so."

I believe I just heard Michael Lombardi on NFL Network say that we've made a call inquiring about Westbrook. I dont know how serious we are.

Westbrook is a good guy, but he is a used up commodity. Guy hasn't been healthy in a long time. I don't think he has had a relatively healthy year since the Eagles went to the Big Dance.

The way he made it sound I dont think we have any real interest. He also said that Westbrook would struggle passing a medical anyways.

I'm amazed we didn't sign anybody especially after we dumped so many players. The purge needed to happen but I fully expected to sign someone. It's not like we have 10+ picks to fill our holes.

Relax guys, there are players left out there, ones that might want to visit several places. The less high profile the longer these things usually take.

LB Foote to visit Redskins and Cardinals next week - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

i think for the right price this would be a pretty nice pick up and our new LB coach, Spanos, has coached Foote every year he's been in the league until last year.

Great news! And the coach connection probably gives us an edge over the Cards.

except for the fact that whisenhunt and Grimm were in Pittsburgh when he was for most of his tenure, ya we have the position coach advantage, but arizona has the 'build the steelers of the west' type advantage and replace our pro bowl LB, and your going to be an automatic starter here. But ya I guess ours is a little greater..

The weather is better in Arizona though ... but that's just me.

I agree. We have plenty of time and every year a big name or two gets let go during the offseason.

Btw...IMO...
- Dansby was overpaid.
- Rolle was paid a lot more than we were willing to spend on a safety
- Peppers was definitely overpaid
- Clifton really didn't want to be here
- As long as we have Rogers there is no reason to spend D Robinson money on a corner. (I wouldn't mind a reasonable deal for L Sheppard though)

Ozzie Newsome is a friggin genius. Baltimore has to be a SB contender next year.

So we sat out the expensive part of FA. That is a great thing! We will sign people. I am very confident of that.

Good analysis all around.
