Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
our line is a bunch of underachievers and trent green wasn't great. look at him before he went to kc.... a bench warmer product of the system like collins

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
He was the starter for the Rams until he tore his leg off in pre-season allowing Kurt Warner to come in. Up until that injury Green was the unquestioned starter in a potent offense.

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
that's incorrect. you don't get that many 4000+ yard seasons being bad. The skins really wanted to keep him here as the starter, but the ownership change screwed that up. He was the Rams starter till injury and then the chiefs starter. If you're good enough to start for three different teams and win that many more games than you lose (with a terrible defense), you're not a system QB. Which, by the way, Brunell has been accused of on many occassions in jacksonville, before he ended up on the bench for good there.

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
Green is a quality QB. We'd be lucky to have a QB of his caliber for as many years as he's played. It would have been nice if we could have kept him long ago.

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
Yeah, too bad Martz took him when he left us. I didn't realize at the time how good he was despite his last year with us. Of course at that time we had the Frerotte, Rosenfells, Green and I guess the end of the Shuler era. So much QB inconsistency back then (and now).

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
the team WANTED TO KEEP HIM. the uncertainty over the ownership is why he left. so much revisionist history for one thread.

Re: Coaching Issue (I Hate to say it)
But what you said makes my point a lot less relevant for the present...

Also, look at the statements that hive been made by Brunell, Gibbs and Saunders -- especially Gibbs. Gibbs has been very, very careful at how he talks about #8. Very careful. Brunell has been very, very defensive. My spidey sense tells me that Gibbs real view of the QB play is different from the impression he has been creating.
